I wouldn't choose Beau personally but don't mind it - could imagine it on a little boy as well as a grown man.

Roundandround, perhaps people give 'middle class' names 'lots of praise and attention' because they simply like the names - simple as as that.

Ahh call you baby what you want.xx However, I have a friend with a Beau and I do cringe............sorry.

Beau...

Lox?
Tom?

Never added to zombie thread before but my DH came up with the above suggestions whilst I was reading aloud some of the replies.

What charming women you are!... I sense a few future school bullies from the offspring of the nasty posters on this thread.

Goodness me, what reactions! (And I know it is a very old thread but I am still quite shocked by the vitriol) Shock

I know 2 Bo/Beaus (not sure of the spelling) and I don't remember there ever being a problem with their names. They really suited them and it feels like quite a fresh, light name for a boy/young man. I think it would also suit an older man as well.

I think I would go for Bo spelling personally.

Although I don't understand why people wouldn't question Belle/Belle for a girl (even if she may possibly grow up to be unattractive) whereas this is a reason to avoid Beau Confused

What is wrong with you people!! Don't know if anyone will see this, but i love the name. Don't let anyone discourage you from picking the name you love!!! I named my son Leo and nobody liked it but it fits him so well! Hope you ended up choosing Beau :)

Selecta??? Wink

Really awful name BTW.

Beau for a boy, Belle for a girl.
I do think it's a bit odd to declare your child 'Beau' or 'Belle' (beautiful), but it's not an awful name. Only I'm one of those that finds it a bit strange to meet graceless Graces and ordinary Max's...
