I think Beau or Bo is actually OK as a nn if it suits the person, and if he likes it himself. But not as a formal first name.

Bo is often short for E European names like Borislav, Bora, etc.

Guy?

With the french pronunciation ;-)

I do like it and think Sebastian would be great as middle name, but I can't get the theme tune to Bonanza out of my head.

What a pity Emma Bunton's OH doesn't have Weekender as a surname.

One of the "girl group" 2 Shoes has a son called Beaux.

That is all I have to say.

melika · 16/02/2012 08:56

FGS, I can see a million reasons not to call it him. Can't you have it as a second name. Have mercy on him. Hmm

melika · 16/02/2012 08:58

OMG Toasted I have just re-read your post and now I am LMAO. Grin

I have been reading the responses to the original question of what goes with the name Beau, quite frankly the responses are unnecessary!! the question was what goes with it not a open invitation to slate the name!! it seems like many of you have some jealous anger vented in a total disregard for the name. what i would like to know is if you think this name is so appalling what are the names of your children, put them on here so people can have there view on them!!!!! Jamina I hope you didnt listen to the small minded minority, Beau is a classy beautiful name,
awaiting list of names to be judged!!

babyblabber · 18/09/2012 19:35

I think it's a lovely name. Defo agree a longer middle name sounds better and maybe something harsher sounding as beau is soft sounding. Alexander is a great suggestion. Or Matthew, Andrew, Oscar...can't think of anymore!

stephrick · 18/09/2012 19:48

Jest. I think he was a soldier

Houseworkprocrastinator · 18/09/2012 20:00

I really like it. Think it would be really cute for a little boy.

Really don't know why but the first name that popped into my head to go with it was Jasper but I think that might be quite popular at the moment.

CPtart · 18/09/2012 20:33

Tie?

exoticfruits · 18/09/2012 20:38

Something very plain so that he can change it if he finds it embarrassing-James, William etc.

You resurrected this thread to comment? Did you search for your DS's name and find this thread?

OTheHugeManatee · 19/09/2012 11:35

Oh gawd, I hadn't noticed it was a zombie thread Grin

Houseworkprocrastinator · 19/09/2012 13:21

Wonder what she called him.

OTheHugeManatee · 19/09/2012 13:23

I really, really hope it was Beau Selecta Grin

Taralara · 19/09/2012 16:39

what is a DS?

DancehallDaze · 19/09/2012 17:15

Beau Diddley

OTheHugeManatee · 19/09/2012 18:04

If he popped out with lots of floppy blond hair, going 'What, what, tootus frootus,' perhaps she named him Beau Joe?

Roundandroundthemulberrybush · 19/09/2012 22:13

It is not a name I would have chosen but it is far better than many of the names people on here come up with which are beyond ludicrous but because they are perceived as middle class are given lots of praise and attention. Ptolemy anyone?
