Help needed naming week old unnamed baby

Moobee · 22/01/2012 21:11

Our baby is a week old today and we're having trouble naming her. We wanted to get a hint of her personality before choosing a name so we've only just got to the shortlist phase. My dh is welsh and likes celtic type names, whilst I like a mix but want too give her a name that would not restrict her and so suit a high court judge or a DJ and anything in between.

We have:

Top 10
aoife
beatrice
bethan / bethany
carys
megan
olwen
rebecca
rhiannon / rhian
katherine
robyn

10 - 20
caitlyn
elodie
iona
orla
agnes
maegan
seren
helena
imogen
morgan

I'd appreciate the thoughts of mumsnetters on this one! I've put a photo of her on my profile taken the day she was born to help. She seems inquisitive, intelligent and we think she's beautiful (and I know all parents would probably say those things) so we wanted a name to reflect that.

Thank you!

'Seer' popped into my mind when I looked at her. There is a Welsh girl's name with this meaning (seer or muse) - Awena (pronounced aWENa). Congratulations, she looks lovely.

ThisIsMummyPig · 22/01/2012 21:32

Beatrice is a lovely name - and you have Shakespeare on your side.

Sirzy · 22/01/2012 21:32

Aoife or Beatrice would be my choices

WoollyHead · 22/01/2012 21:34

Bethan, Rhiannon or Elodie Smile

Congratulations

Ladyemem · 22/01/2012 21:34

pooka · 22/01/2012 21:35

Thank you all - it's really appreciated! Thank you for the extra suggestions too, it's nice to hear names we may not have thought of (although some of you have suggested my name so I can't use that Grin)

Off to bed as the baby is nocturnal and this will give us some chance of sleep but I'll be checking over night.

she's divine!
I think she looks like a bethan, carys or olwen .. or possibly a katherine (kate) or seren..... something strong yet soft, wise, beautiful, not too frilly/delicate....

StetsonsAreCool · 22/01/2012 22:00

I thought Bethan on first sight. Maybe Carys or Rhiannon.

She's just scrumptious. Congratulations!

JoantheFennel · 22/01/2012 22:00

I think Bethan
