So we're onto either Lachlan or Brodie for this one but I'm looking for more suggestions. We already have a Euan, Callum and a Fergus. I had dismissed Innes but heard it in a shop today and quite liked it.

Im stuck - poor we'd Fergus was nameless for 10 days - I want to get this one cracked before he pops out.

I love Lockhart.

I liked Alastair (DH didn't).

We went with Angus.

roslyn is nice but isnt it girls name?

magentastardust · 31/08/2011 16:18

Lots of innes's around here -definately a boys name.
I knew 2 brothers called Ramsay and Nairn.
What about Moray, Blair, Murdo, callain, Finlay, Hamish, Ruriadh, Eoghain, Cameron, Mack, Lewis, Morgan, Mitchell, Aaron, Fraser ?

shonnomanom · 31/08/2011 17:17

I know a Fulton, Arran , Lewis, Innes and his brother Hamish, Ruaridh, Struan, Col(as in Isle of..), Angus(shortened to Gus), Duncan, Blair and Finlay.

We are considering Cameron and Lewis.

The only Brodies iv ever known have been female. Although it can be used for male as well

shonnomanom · 31/08/2011 17:19

Oh forgot about Harris. Would have been Dd's name had she been male.

GoingToHelenaHandcart · 31/08/2011 20:44

OP do let us know what you decide on.

Lorne/Lorn

diddl · 01/09/2011 13:41

My faves are Hamish & Angus.

Also like Rufus & Sholto but no idea if Scottish.

scottishmummy · 01/09/2011 18:29

some great name suggestions on this thread

lollystix · 01/09/2011 21:37

Hi ladies- I'm still listening. DH not going for the innes option much. Says penis/anus association could be source of much hilarity in the playground.

Is Fraser posh do you think? It's always been floating around on the list.

Oh and I've always liked Duncan but is it a bit of an old man's name?

Has anyone mentioned Dougray, pronounced, although my favourite name is Hamish.

FellatioNelson · 01/09/2011 21:50

Ooh yes, Dougray is lovely. Very manly and romantic sounding.

mollyscarlettmum · 01/09/2011 21:52

We've just had a Fraser, and we are definitely not posh! Also liked Gregor but he just looked like a Fraser if you know what I mean! My daughter had a Lomond in her nursery class

lollystix · 01/09/2011 22:04

Fergus was to be a Fraser but he just looked a bit too much of a bruiser when he came out.

Flatstomachenomore · 01/09/2011 23:22

I love Gregor, Gregory, Lachlan, Murdoch and Inness. Good luck with your choices.

Thumbwitch · 01/09/2011 23:25

I don't think of Fraser as being particularly posh, it's a good name.

birdofthenorth · 02/09/2011 08:43

Brodie

Tillyscoutsmum · 02/09/2011 09:24

I don't think of Fraser as being posh particularly but Fergus (and Callum) are more bruiser/boisterous boys type names whereas Fraser seems a more "sensitive/quiet" boy's name. Just in my own head, obviously Grin. My Fergus is a definite bruiser too.

I still like Brodie

lollystix · 02/09/2011 09:49

Yep - Fraser just seemed a but refined and he had a really fat face and legs when he came out. Fergus means man of strength and it suits his build and character

whizzyrocket · 02/09/2011 15:22

I like pretty much all of these but having taught in Scotland can I suggest that Kieran or Kielan (I know they're more Irish) are over-used and for some reason tend to be naughty boys. Fraser is lovely though as is Alastair.

Baffledandbewildered · 02/09/2011 16:00

I like Ramsey good solid name
