First time I've seen it spelt like that!
Know a honey but never met a hunni!

wonder if she'll go into the pram selling business when she's grown up...

questions · 14/11/2010 17:12

Hunni? Oh dear.

Seeing this name thread reminded me of one I heard earlier today .............................MissEllie

I'm presuming that's how it is spelled, its certainly how it was prounounced and it wasn't a nickname either

jaggythistle · 14/11/2010 17:15

Saw one on tv called Miriyah. Hmm

(not that I was watching any kids tv yesterday)

earlgreyismynectar · 14/11/2010 18:33

Ugh! Isn't that the way Winnie the Pooh spelt it?! Having said that I did meet a 6 year old Tequila a few years ago, when we remarked on her name being pretty she proudly told us her middle name was Sunrise. Oh and I noticed a baby called Jay-Z in the local paper beautiful baby competition a couple of years ago

jaggythistle · 14/11/2010 19:23

Think Pooh had Hunny :)

DinahRod · 14/11/2010 19:28

Whilst spending our MN winnings in the Disney Store, a mum behind us yelled "Seren-eh-tee" & mardy kid stomped over.

Dh had to take himself off.

TryLikingClarity · 14/11/2010 19:31

A friend of mine is a youth worker. She swears she once worked with 2 brothers called Jay-Z and Dre.

Confused

Hunni is pretty dire too, IMO.

onimolap · 14/11/2010 19:33

MissEllie is one homage to Dallas too far

carrielou2007 · 14/11/2010 21:03

A fair few years ago I was reading one of my mum's trashy mags (should have been my first clue) take a break or something like that and story about couple and lots of illness whilst pregnant, baby born early I think, very ill etc etc. The decided to name her (and no I am not joking) L'Oreal because they said she was 'worth it'. No-one ever believes it as surely no-one could be that stupid??!!

TryLikingClarity · 14/11/2010 21:47

L'Oreal?! Shock Confused

Maybe they thought it was the French translation... Hmm

A1980 · 14/11/2010 21:53

Hunni's awful IMO.

I've also met girls called Maybe and Nearly. I kid you not.

Another colleague just had a baby girl and named her Bo. I asked how it was spelled, e.g Bow, Beau, etc. When she said B.O. I had to struggle to keep my face straight. Body odour I thought.

I knew a child called Sugar. Her sister was called Summer. I also know of a Raven.

StableButDeluded · 15/11/2010 00:37

Think Ulrika Jonnsson has a Bo. I don't like it.

And Hunni is awful.

FairyArmadillo · 15/11/2010 01:30

Hunni is an awful name. Strangely, I don't hate Honey, but Hunni is cruel. But not as cruel as L'Oreal.

Mumcentreplus · 15/11/2010 01:43

DD1s middle name is Honey..

Hunni tis a naff name..

flopsy1974 · 15/11/2010 10:42

silly name if you ask me.

ThatllDoPig · 15/11/2010 10:45

Worst one I've heard of is Chavi-Rose.

It is really true, poor little thing.

Rentatoast · 15/11/2010 11:17

Her parents could continue the theme -

She could have a sister called Bunni and a brother called Sunni!

L'Oreal - thats priceless!

sparkle12mar08 · 15/11/2010 16:28

There was a Honey-Mae and a Cruz in my son's nursery. And my hairdresser named her daughter Kennaadii...

Nancy66 · 15/11/2010 16:36

There's a Kanye at my nephew's nursery

sparkle12mar08 · 15/11/2010 16:39

I love having an Ancestry subscription, the BMD registers go up to 2005 and are an absolute hoot to look through when I'm bored. On the Chavi name, there are lots of this name, which seem to be nearly always associated with either Jewish or Indian sounding surnames, so probably not the laugh we were expecting.

There are indeed lots of Loreal's and L'oreal's on the lists, and I did find Chavi Rose too, without the hyphen. A handful of Bunni's, and 100+ Sunni's. Lots of Tequila's but can't find Tequila Sunrise I'm afraid.

Come try me!

Lulumaam · 15/11/2010 16:42

I did want , briefly, to call DD Honey. I was very hormonal at the time, in my defence.

however her actual name has had some pretty negative reactions, so you can't win !

Lulumaam · 15/11/2010 16:44

I knew a Sunny at Uni. Actually like that

A GP friend of my parents' had a patient who called their child Kyomi, (a brand of deodorant in the early 90s.)
