Feeling the need to defend Chavi-Rose here... Wikipedia says that the term Chav became widespread in 2005 - if its the little girl I am thinking of (there surely can't be more than one?) she would be about 7 or 8 now? Presumably the parents would have realised had they thought to google the name beforehand - or asked the help of the mighty Mumsnet . FWIW, Rose is actually her middle name - it was hyphenated when she started school. As you say, poor little girl

My bro knows a lad named Strange. They are a big family and have a surname that sounds extra odd as it's an adjective/noun that isn't very flattering.

There are worse names, I know a little girl called Heavenly Blu, a terrible name to saddle a child with! I hate the term chav but all parents I know that seem to fit the term call there children a surname type name (like Riley, Taylor or Morgan).

My grown up son is called Cruz.
