Ok ok - you win, Beauden is out. But now I really need your help - baby due any day now.

How about Indigo Sky for a boy? Any better?

I like some of the suggestions but nothing really appeals.

I like soft sounding nature names like:

Aspen (too much potential for teasing)
Cypress (too much like Cyprus)

Can't have Forest or River or Winter which I like.

So, I have listened to everyone but now I have no name. And baby might be born any time.

Help.

I love Indigo Sky.

Hey everyone, thanks for all your thoughts!! Think we have finally decided thanks to all you wonderful people (your criticisms were needed to help us focus). Thanks for the tip about nymbler by the way - that was great. Anyway, think we have decided against Indigo as not masculine enough. And not a great reaction on here.

How about Inigo?

According to www.thinkbabynames.com it's "of English and Spanish origin. Variant of Ignatius. Modern use is likely to be homage to the great English architect Inigo Jones."

Generally I really like unusual names, but Indigo is more of a girls name IMO.

I love Inigo though, if we ever have a DC2 it's a serious contender.

Atticus is great too.

Sorry I now see you've already (twice!) said Indigo is out now!

catinthehat2 · 02/10/2010 23:12

Are you going to tell us?

I've checked in so often in the last day or two. Gwan, give us a clue....Smile

colditz why do you feel the need to post "What about Ben? or Tom? Or James?" or any of your subsequent posts rallying against unusual names?

Personally I like unusual names, but I'd never have the cheek to go on a thread where the OP wanted more standard names and suggest a bunch of way out names, or accuse them of being boring and unimaginative (which is the equivalent of what you're doing).

You don't like unusual names, fine. But how rude to have a go at the OP.

I know lots of people with unusual names who love them, and some people with "normal names" who don't like them. I challenge you to give me a name which can't be turned into a taunt by a bully - it probably doesn't exist, and if it did, the bullies would only choose something else to use as ammunition. And anyway, in the circles that me (and by default DS) exist in, most of my mate's kids names are on the unusual side, so actually some one called James or Ben might feel left out in our world!

If no one ever went for unusual names, there would be no changes in names, we'd all still be called the stone age equivalent of John and Jane!

As I have said before I am not a nature names type of girl, but you've said you like soft sounds. What about Cedar? I really like it even though it isn't my usual.

Haliborange · 02/10/2010 23:18

x-posted. What did you choose?
