Romilly- do you know of any?

I'm not pregnant at the moment but am considering trying for another one. I have always liked the name Romilly for a girl. I was wondering how popular it is at the moment as I prefer to use an unusual name.

Would you mind letting me know if you know any little Romillys and which area of the country you live in?

Many thanks

Yes - not that little now, about 15? West Yorks.

gibba8 · 03/08/2010 19:42

There is a news presenter called Romilly - a lovely and unusual name.

Ineedsomesleep · 03/08/2010 19:49

I used to know one as a child, she must be in her 40's now.

The only other one I've ever heard of is Romilly Saran Weeks, the newsreader.

I know one, she is 2. North Gloucestershire.

None ( manchester)

ArthuriaAugustaDArcy · 03/08/2010 20:54

Two (Cambridge and West Yorkshire). IIRC, it's also a station on the Manchester-Sheffield train line (the endless one that stops pretty much everywhere in the Peak District), which would make it a no-no for me.

None, Herts

proudfoot · 03/08/2010 20:57

DastardlyandSmugly · 03/08/2010 21:22

There is one at the DCs nursery. I think she is about 18m. Lovely name though

Love it! None known to me in seaside town, North Yorkshire

ladyflapperflop · 04/08/2010 09:37

So it doesn't look too popular then.
Anyone else?

Not come across it on my rounds (I teach supply so see a LOT of names in both quite chavvy and very very upper class areas).

Colliecross · 04/08/2010 12:51

Know of none in Devon.

Dysgu · 04/08/2010 13:01

I don't know any - it was on our (very) shortlist for both DDs but we didn't use it in the end. Still love it but not planning on any more DC.

comtessa · 04/08/2010 13:05

Very pretty name. Could also be shortened to Roma or Milly, if you like nicknames, but short enough to be used in full. Don't know any Romilly's but Romola Garai is my favourite actress (I Capture the Castle, Glorious 39, Blonde Bombshells).

TheMoreItSnows · 04/08/2010 13:14

I've got one, she's five.....

TheMoreItSnows · 04/08/2010 13:15

Oops sorry - Hants

Amberbop · 04/08/2010 16:21

This is very encouraging - Romilly is what our little girl will be called when she makes an appearance in a few weeks!

NiceCuppaT · 04/08/2010 17:26

I love it and I'm going to add it to my list! I don't know any. I'm in Somerset.
