I do these on other sites I am on (babywearer, craftster) and they are always loads of fun.
If you don't know what I mean it works like this.
Group of us submit likes/dislikes/ kids ages etc
You each get a giftee chosen who you make a secret gift for, either for them, or the DC's or the home using whatever crafty skills you have.
Everyone recieves a anonymous hand crafted gift in the post and gets that warm fuzzy feeling.

If you like the idea then sign up here and I shall sort a yahoo group or something.

Oh, and don't worry if you are new to crafting, My first year I sent a crocheted hat to someone, it took me a couple of days even though it was dead easy, but she loved it, it's the thought, not the skill!

thell · 30/09/2009 23:07

Argh!
I have emailed you, but am not sure what on earth I can make.

I've been making the microwave-mug-chocolate-cake from the MN Recipes...can I send one of those??!

JackBauer · 01/10/2009 10:21

Hmmm, you could stick a witch face on it a halloween theme?
There must be something, painting, sewing, knitting, crochet, drawing, baking....

tatty, you need to mail me on JackBauerMN at googlemail.com!

Over the weekend I will do a random draw and email you out who you will be making stuff for, then if you send me your addresses I can forward them out....

All mails by friday though!

Geocentric · 02/10/2009 11:55

Bumping up... last day...

If the person we get in the draw doesn't have a profile, do we get to know important info such as number/age of DCs? (might have impact on the type of craft gift...)

I am SAHM about to go back to work, DD's are 3.8 and 2 next week. DH is a biker and loves his xbox.
I think that would be all you need from me

Geocentric · 02/10/2009 22:54

Me - some stuff on profile. DS is almost 7, DD is 5, both are really interested in this craft swap and have been helping me with ideas of what to send to my "friend from England".

DH and DS share a love of videogames and heavy metal, DD is gutted we can't have a cat (because of allergies) as they are "so cuuuuute".

dizzyday07 · 02/10/2009 23:54

I'm a SAHM too but I sew on the side.

here is my blog but don't let it worry you all - I just muddle through most of the time!!

I have 2 kids - DS is 16 and DD is 5. He is into mostly music whilst she loves anything pink!!

CharCharGabor · 03/10/2009 15:04

I'm a SAHM too. DD is 2.2 and a quirky little creature, as am I I am also 18 weeks pregnant with DC2. DP is a computer game freak who is obsessed with zombies, as am I!

lavenderkate · 03/10/2009 18:22

Please WAIT FOR ME JACKS.

my email failed. sending it again.

JackBauWooohooohoowaaer · 03/10/2009 20:42

That's ok m'dear, I've done feck all on laptop today anyway

Got it anyway

Geocentric · 05/10/2009 00:18

Dizzy, I had a peek at your blog, what lovely quilts!!!! I've been wanting to learn to quilt for ages, but I should probably learn to use a sewing machine first...

I mostly stick to cross-stitching or muck around with felt, which is so forgiving of my wonky hand-stitches, lol.

tattycoram · 05/10/2009 08:35

I'm late too - have emailed you now Jack. Sorry sorry sorry - don't worry if I'm too late for this go, totally understand if you've sorted it all out

JackBauWooohooohoowaaer · 05/10/2009 09:48

Right, and sending emails out today with picks, excuse brevity of mails as am dying of cold and have DD2 dying of cold lying on top of me!
I will sort blog and stuff out shortly but can't do anything so complicated today

JackBauWooohooohoowaaer · 05/10/2009 09:54

Dammit,

I forgot to say in emails.
If you have any info you would like me to pass on then email it to me as well.
I thoguht we could keep everything secret if that's ok as it is a bit more fun then!
Um, and I think that was all!

Tif · 05/10/2009 10:57

Hi there,
quick question: what does DC stand for? eg. ...make something for the home, MNetter or DC...

Geocentric · 05/10/2009 11:52

Stands for Dear Children, Tif.
