Gingermonkey · 09/11/2007 16:51

LK, I already starting making one of those for the DCs (well, a bit like it, I have a mix of stockings and pouches, but I quite like the pouches better!)

pointydog · 09/11/2007 17:03

what are the owls for? Formaking a sign?

Tillyboo · 09/11/2007 18:41

I'm off to have a go at the owls right now ! They are brilliant - so simple but effective.

pointydog · 09/11/2007 19:31

do you think they are for making signs with, like happy birthday?

lucykate · 09/11/2007 20:00

pd, i think you could do whatever you wanted with them, would make a nice christmas banner or a great name sign for dc's bedroom door, depends what fabric you've got to use. could even follow the same pattern and do it in paper, and glue instead of stitch

OP posts:
pointydog · 10/11/2007 10:24

sign for door - that would be nice

Gingermonkey · 12/11/2007 14:47

pd, I'm going to do a sign for the door, good suggestion - thanks!!!! My friend's baby doesn't have one, and I've been struggling what I can get him for christmas.

bubblerock · 12/11/2007 14:59

Love the owls - not sure about the hoover cosy though

NaeDanger · 12/11/2007 15:08

Tillyboo · 12/11/2007 15:10

I've had a go at the Owls, here are a couple of pics.

So quick and easy to make, I think I'll make some big ones next !

Gingermonkey · 12/11/2007 15:14

Naedanger, it didn't link...so here you go
Naedanger's headband I could have done with that yesterday!!!

TB, fab owls!

NaeDanger · 12/11/2007 15:26

see? that's happens when you post a link then walk away without checking it. Thanks GM! (it's PMD BTW!)

lucykate · 14/11/2007 11:09

spotted this yesterday, look at the christmas wreath made from balls of wool, that is so cool!!.

not sure it would look quite as nice on our 70's style naff glazed front door that somebody has done a diy hammerite paint job on

i can see the cat attacking it too

couple of new things, came across this blog through the softie awards, this is a great idea for school holidays, cardboard dolls house!

also, the latest podcast from craftypod looks really interesting, its about a lady who turned her craft blog into a book

SoupDragon · 16/11/2007 11:36

That wreath would look fab done in pompoms!

lucykate · 16/11/2007 11:38

hey, pompoms is a great idea!, kids would love making them

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 16/11/2007 11:42

Stuff the kids, I may well have a go myself when they've gone to bed

SoupDragon · 16/11/2007 11:43

Can you make pompoms without having to cut the cardboard discs out? ie can you use the discs more than once? My pompom making days are so very long ago!

lucykate · 16/11/2007 11:51

i think it depends how full you want to make them, i like my pompoms quite big , i'm too impatient and just cut mine so they come out quicker.
