Does anyone fancy a bit of a challenging challenge?

I was wondering how people felt about a challeng to get us into something new?
my idea - we all say which crafts we're into, then get the name of someone who is into a different craft. we then send off a 'starter pack' to that person, with instructions, equipment etc & a simple project to make. a month later we all post up our first attempts at t new craft.

e.g. i do knitting, embroidery & cards. someone could send me a kit for how to make dolls clothes, or cross-stitch or applique a t-shirt. after 4 weeks i have to post up my efforts!

anyone interested? i am, of course, willing to co-ordinate, if someone can set up a gallery for our crafty pictures.

oh god... craft porn... sigh. I was planning a trip to a local highstreet on some spurious Proper Reason just because there's a shop that sells craft stuff too. I've managed to resist.

peachy has all your crafting details, mum, but doens't have an address to send to. Muminfife hasn't got anything from me, peachy so she knows nothing! could you tell her where you live, what you're interested in, and what you don't want!

Update - I think that everyone except Muminfife should have received an email by now, telling them who to swap with & the instructions. peachyclair & muminfife should be trying to talk directly to each other, due to mysterious technical problems!

You should try to get starter kits sent out by Monday 26th Feb, then
make a start on your new craft, and post us a picture (whizz has
provided the link) within the next 2 weeks - Monday 12th March
Kit should cost no more than £10, and for your own sake, try to keep it
easy to post!.

Kits can be shop bought or home made, and instructions can be as specific or vague as you think suitable - you can print things off the internet, or write your own, or just give some general hints. Of course, you shouldn't break copyright, but you may have some ideas from books which you could summarise .

just decided that this challenge was a really BAD idea - i am being far too tempted whilst browsing around craft stores!

Whizz, thank you for the parcel, arrived today. I have only tried iris folding once before, never done quilling & never done a 'pop up' card, so I shall see what I can manage!

I will post on here once I've got some things done!
