Does anyone fancy a bit of a challenging challenge?

I was wondering how people felt about a challeng to get us into something new?
my idea - we all say which crafts we're into, then get the name of someone who is into a different craft. we then send off a 'starter pack' to that person, with instructions, equipment etc & a simple project to make. a month later we all post up our first attempts at t new craft.

e.g. i do knitting, embroidery & cards. someone could send me a kit for how to make dolls clothes, or cross-stitch or applique a t-shirt. after 4 weeks i have to post up my efforts!

anyone interested? i am, of course, willing to co-ordinate, if someone can set up a gallery for our crafty pictures.

champs - far be it for me to dictate your bedtimes, but here in arts & crafts we feel a warm cocoa around 9 pm, follwed by bed is far more the norm! how else do we remain the warm & fuzzy area on mn?
(please don't look at how late i have been in the bar sometimes! )

Hi, I'm new and am really interested in your crafty swappy thingy! I do machine embroidery, beading, patchwork, textile art, box making, make babies leather shoes and lots of others - will try anything except cross stitch - been there done that and got bored to tears!!

I've just noticed that very few of you sent me your real life address. I shall send out emails with your swap details, then let you emial each other with addresses, if that's ok - seems quicker than getting them all sent to me, then me emailing them our.

yep, pairing doen & emails will be going out tonight with full instructions, just trying to give anniedoodle a chance to join in if she wants.

sooo, I went shopping today, looking for things for the swappee, and I nearly bought myself
a weave a scarf ina bag kit
a crochet a bag in a bag kit
a 'glass painting' card kit
some extra wool
some crafty stuff for dd (sho's only 3!)
some pretty cottons & silks
a tapestry kit

BUT I stuck to my resolution of getting my big black cardigan finished, and only bought some pink yarn to knit swuares with.

Still, i think i'm just a craft tart - i'll 'do' anything, me!

no, i was just indulging in some craft porn! copped a feel of many yarns as well!

also bought sample pieces of fabric, ostensible for a room we're decorating

i want to give up work to spend my days wafting around shops & buying/making crafty things, then collect dd from school & teach her about crafty things. now i just need to convice dh that it's a plan!
