Help! Still not getting the hang of it

Whats the 2 loops?

When you bring the hook back through your work there should be 3 loops around it

I've just made a ball of knots somehow? It was suppose to be a square again

Keep practising. Maybe get in touch with a local knitting group through your nearest yarn shop?

My Hobbycraft has a knitting/crochet meeting every Saturday morning and the local yarn store shop has a meet every other Friday - or just go in and ask at a yarn store.
