A bit of advice for those going by car: the car park beside the Burrell is Pay & Display. If you are prepared to walk 5-10 minutes, you can park down in the car park by (just beyond) Pollok House (past Pollok House, down the hill, bear right and then immediately left), which is free.

Is the the usual bus station in Hamilton? Only it's being renovated so some buses are using the Palace Grounds instead.

If you don't mind sharing a seriously untidy car with a randomer and two annoying kids then I can meet you and give you a lift.

Stops at lesmahagow, hamilton and buchanan. Train just stops at glasgow central. A lift would be grand as I don't know glasgow at all and I'd chip in for petrol.

I'll ask the bus driver where s/he's stopping in hamilton and let you know? hope it's not too much faff for you? the buses back are at 15:25 and 18:25, so would have to be back in hamilton just before then??

Don't worry about the lift back as I can hop on in glasgow.

I just saw this and I can't come as I just got into knitting again when I lost my fine motor skills with illness and can't knit any more (and I used to be an Aran knitter!)

The boy who never sleeps never slept, well was awake and alert till after midnight, so i missed my bus. So as was looking forward to a jaunt. and a natter and cake. At least I can knit at home. The weather's rubbish so maybe as well. Have a lovely time. Quite a lot of you going a distance.
