ok

i have covered the cover and first few pages but papered over the holes iyswim.....tried to 'hole punch' them out but they look cack

need to tart it up

popsycalindisguise · 24/01/2006 20:48

was just going to put them on the cover - not the whole cj

UCM · 24/01/2006 20:53

Wow, have just seen your workshop JM, it's too tidy!!! Mine is in uproar. My DH says he doesn't know how I find anything. Yours is very very lovely though.

UCM · 24/01/2006 20:56

Right my reason for being here; I am not going to cover my scrapbook until the end. Is that ok? It's a watercolour pad. I have stuck the first page to the front cover to make it stiffer (sorry can't resist ), but other than that I was going to send it without. I will do the Tag thingy though.

JayzMummy · 24/01/2006 21:12

UCM. Why???
The whole idea is that you set the theme by decorating your book first???????

JayzMummy · 24/01/2006 21:14

popsy....eyelets on the front and back cover are fine....but not on the inside pages because it makes it impossible for the others to add their pages easily IYKWIM?????

AuntyQuated · 24/01/2006 21:24

UCM
am i missing the point here? i thought the whole idea of this was to decorate the covers to start the whole thing rolling??????

katzg · 24/01/2006 21:30

i was about to panic then as i have put eyelets over the holes on my front cover but they are just on the front cover only and rings fit through fine,

i have decorated my cover but its not quite right but hey never mind! DH says its look fab!

i just have to do my tag page and my instruction page and the first double layout now then it will be already to send off!!! not much then

UCM · 25/01/2006 00:07

I thought that I had to do my first LO?? then send it to someone etc etc.....

As someone said earlier, it will get tatty if it goes through too many hands.

So I am doing a LO but not covering book until the end. Is this right.

UCM · 25/01/2006 00:13

Having just read thread properly, it seems not.

Oh well I will cover book etc.

UCM · 25/01/2006 00:14

If everyone else is working to the perfect scrapbook ie' 12 x 12, please tell me, as I am working to something completely different.

JayzMummy · 25/01/2006 00:46

UCM....the maximum size of the journal must be no bigger than 8x8. The most popular size is 5x7 or 7x7 square. So noone is doing a 12x12.

I certainly hope that the journals will not get tatty. They should be treated with respect because they are after all someone elses journal.

I have done several and never had a tatty one turn up because everyone appreciates the time and work that is involved in making the journals in the first instance.

It might be worth bearing in mind that if you have any special embellishments that you want to use, that they are adhered well and that they are not to bulky. If they are then maybe it would be better not to fix them to the covers of your CJ until it has been completed by your team mates.

HTH.

UCM · 25/01/2006 09:53

Thanks JM, very helpful. I went to new craft shop and everything scrapbook was based on the 12 x 12, so wasn't sure.

JayzMummy · 25/01/2006 09:55

Thats why its a nightmare to do....we have to cut into our lovely 12x12's....the pain sometimes is just too great

Hausfrau....I have no objections to doing as many LO's as you want in your CJ....maybe people can request more than one LO in their introduction page??? Then if people want to do more than one they can....no pressure then on those who are committed with other things.

AuntyQuated · 25/01/2006 18:04

i've started
i ahve covered my covers. but not decorated them yet. it took me ages, and they sort of look good and sort of don't.

kiwibella · 25/01/2006 18:34

question #2031 from me ... when I am covering my cover, do I cut the paper to size for each of the front and back? Or, do I fold the sheets over the edge so that it is not exposed? Tx

JayzMummy · 25/01/2006 19:47

Its up to you Kiwi....some people even paint them
