Well I've done my first 'necklace card'.
I've posted into the gallery under All New - Whizzz

(and sorted out my stuff whilst I was there - some of the 'new' stuff was a bit old !)

link to Gallery

The trouble is - I keep making stuff & then deciding I like it too much & start wearing it myself !

I like your use of the wire on some of your cards Whizz... the butterfly and the coathanger of the 'party girl' dress. Very clever .

Whizzz · 10/09/2005 07:57

I thought of asking £4 for earring cards & £7 for necklace cards - what do you think ??

I'm going to try & find an outlet to sell them (hawking my wares around the street !)
or might even try E-bay ?

Have a look in the local paper to see if there's any craft fairs coming ring up and ask if you can have a stall
Chester Town Hall starting this Oct has a craft fair every Sat one table costs £30.00 a lot I know I thought I'd have to sell about 10 cards before I started making any profit.

Try ringing round the churches & schools to see if they are having any Christmas craft fairs they usually charge about £5 to £10
Your cards are like a present and a card so I think your prices are fine I think you will have to just test the ground,

champs · 10/09/2005 23:36

yep, sounds like a good price.

jayzmummy · 11/09/2005 02:21

Whizz....lovely jewellery.

If you are going to sell them you need to run up a label stating whether the earrings are made from hypoallergenic metal or not...protect yourself from being sued becuase someone has worn them and have allergic reation etc.

I think your prices are fine for selling yourslf but a shop would offer you less because they need to make a profit...so expect to get around £3 for the earrings cards and £5 for the necklaces.

May I make a suggestion?
The holes where you thread the jewellery through the card would be stronger and look nicer if you were to use an eyelet.

I'll post up a couple of the jewellery cards that are my best sellers for you to have a peep at sometime over the next couple of days. I sell these myself for £6...the shops pay me £5 and then sell on for £9!!!

We are going to stock the beads and shells that I use on our site BTW[grin}
