Waiting for CVS results

Is anyone else waiting for CVS results? Our baby has a raised NT of 4.7 and we had NIPT done privately which came back clear for the 3 trisomies. I'm finding it difficult not to think about the possible outcomes all the time.

We haven't told many people about the pregnancy yet because of the worry that something is wrong, but I'm feeling more and more pregnant as time goes on. Planning on telling my boss on Monday but will ask to WFH until we get the results as I just can't face colleagues congratulating me when they notice my bump.

After horrendous sickness in the first trimester and then the NT concerns this has been an extremely difficult pregnancy so far. Hoping to hear from anyone who has experienced similar or is going through the same right now for some hand holding.

Thanks💐

@GirlMumxx as standard they’ll re scan it. Im assuming you’ve been sent to a specialist hospital too - you’ll have a specialist doing your CVS and scans which should reassure you. Worst case I found looking at TikToks about it a little comforting. Try and find a positive. the nurse at the time showed me the placenta in the tube which made me queezy.
if you get a negative result they should send you back to the specialist for your 20 week scan too x

Do they check the NT again then at the CVS appointment??? Hopefully mine goes down🤞🏼

They will rescan you at the fetal medicine department before they do the CVS. They need to use the ultrasound to see what they’re doing so will generally take another measurement first. The hardest part is the waiting after so my advice would be rest for the rest of the day and then after that try to distract yourself as much as possible. Again, really hoping everything is fine for you 🩷

@PurpleRayne89 and I messaged a little for support, please reach out if it would help I’m more than happy to support you. Losing our son was the hardest thing we’ve ever gone through but I genuinely think one of the hardest parts was the wait for the CVS results. Sending lots of love x

@SarPea93 you have been very supportive. I will definitely pay this forward. It’s very difficult for us right now. Funeral next week and I’m dreading it and feel bad for doing so.

Bless you. We had a joint memorial with 2 other parents is yours the same? I found the service beautiful. I honestly worried so much it would be too hard but it gave me some closure. After we had the main service I had written a letter to our baby which I read out in front of family which felt somewhat healing so would definitely recommend if you feel up to it. Sending you so much love, you are amazingly strong and you’ve done the right thing by your little girl 🩷 I’ve been in a really bad place but I think the memorial really does offer you an opportunity to help process everything. Always here if you want to talk 🥰

@SarPea93 I am not sure whether there will be other families. It’s a short ceremony before the cremation. It’s scary but I’m sure it does bring closure to a degree. You’ve been very kind and I do appreciate it.

I have really bad anxiety so i think I'll pass out too! & no they've not really said much. I'm having a CVS due to my NT being 4.7mm and 1-3 chance DS and 1-13 Edwards/Pataus. Why did you have it done?

Hey just wondered how you got on with your test? Hoping all is well x

GirlMumxx · 04/02/2025 15:02

@SarPea93 The initial test was more uncomfortable than painful, i just did breathing exercises through it all🤣 All tests have came back clear so i have to wait until my 20 week scan on the 4th March to see if they can see anything X
