I have had 6 consecutive miscarriages and finally got to 13 weeks at the age of 42. Combined test nt 3.8, hcg 1.5, papp a 0.5. This seems certain for downs syndrome in all three areas of the test. I'm going for cvs but it's not looking good. It's stupid to hope isnt it?

@disconnecteddrifter We too have had extremely bad news - in our case our Twin B, a little girl, has Trisomy 18, Edwards Syndrome, which is incompatible with life. If she doesn't die before she is born she will die soon after. Our Twin A, a little boy, is healthy. The situation is horrendous. We have made the decision to TMFR Twin B next week, but know there are risks to her brother in the procedure.
These decisions are just awful. Xx

Oh I’m so sorry @disconnecteddrifter it’s a horrific decision to have to come to, but I understand a lot of complicated personal circumstances have to come to play and you need to do what you feel is right for you and your family. Thank you for reading my links and taking in a broad perspective, and do take care xxx

disconnecteddrifter · 15/09/2020 23:12

Yeah they told me yesterday I could be kn for 5 days. I thought bad luck would be overnight. Just dreading it as I havent had a natural birth before due to failure of induction. Plus a recent miscarriage where I went into cervical shock as my cervix wouldn't open. Sorry I dont feel very prepared

@disconnecteddrifter I’m so sorry you are going through this. Fingers crossed you aren’t in hospital too long. Thinking of you xxx

JennyMY · 16/09/2020 07:11

@disconnecteddrifter Thinking of you. We had the procedure to stop our little girl's heart yesterday 😢 - she wouldn't have lived, so we made the difficult choice to say goodbye to her now. We can't deliver her because of the surviving twin. It's a devastating time and I'm sending you so much love and strength. I hope you're not in there any longer than necessary and can be back with your family soon ❤️xxx

Sussexbysea · 16/09/2020 08:28

@JennyMY oh Jenny, my heart brakes for you. Xx

disconnecteddrifter · 16/09/2020 10:51

Ah @JennyMY I'm so sorry. I wish the rest of your pregnancy to go smoothly. It's so hard. X

I had the termination. The care was amazing but it was painful because I didnt want to push and have him out. But we got to spend the day with him and take photos. So desperately sad but wanted to thank everyone who commented. I think you kept me sane in the weeks of uncertainty
