Midwife phoned to tell me my results show i am 1 in 5 at risk of T21.

I was taken aback really and wasn't really listening to the results she explained.

She went on and explained about diagnostic testing and to discuss with Hubby.

She said the scan was fine, just the bloods

I have decided to have the amnio test after she explained the risk and % of miscarriage .
Has anyone any advice on this? like does the procedure hurt? how long do results take etc.

Im frightened :(
This is my 1st pregnancy and I'm 39 at the end of the month.

Thank you, I hope so...I feel I was robbed of the non tired stage and jumped from tired to emotionally drained to tired again lol.
It's still hard not knowing if she'll be affected but feeling at peace either way just eager to know

😔 I was really hoping you had some good news for us. Mine was first cycle after a reversal. We were extremely lucky though, and I knew I was at my most fertile as I have 2 daughters already in the mth this little one is due. It will happen soon I'm sure. Cx

Coi123 i know its disheartening especially when it can only happen in that small window period (pardon the pun) but you get what i mean.

Took me over 6 years, told id need fertility treatment, declined and went down the adoption route......1 month in i get pregnant. :)
I believe it will happen sure enough

I'm good thank you, you and bump?
We have been discharged from fetal medicine a mth ago as they can find no anomalies or abnormalities at all and little lady is growing great. So although our risk is still there our little princess is perfect health wise. Just the last mile waiting game now.
I'm being induced in 5 weeks as our new consultant just measuring growth ever two weeks has said she's happy for us to be able to put this behind us and get some answers. 😊

Bumblebee84 That all sounds so positive, and being induced too its totally understandable. At least you will know either way what the hell has been going on.

Ive been having growth scans too due to higher BMI, and also have GD, diet controlled at the minute. I think if i end up on medication they will induce at 37 week. They won't allow me to go over 40 week they said. I have one more scan on 4th April so will know more then.

Hope to speak soon to see how you get on.

Hope Coi123 is ok too.

Hope baby is growing well, sorry to hear about GD, fingers crossed it doesn't get to medication point.

I got told last wk I was high risk downs 1 in 5 chance my by was normal but my bloods was not hcg of 2.6 and papa 0.29 I'm so worried and cried so much. We decide we would have the serenity test as I was not willing to risk my baby with an amnio I'm currently waiting for my news praying and hoping all is fine but understand it might not be it's causing a lot of upset for me and my hubby as he did not won't me to have NHS blood test to start I feel so guilty I just hope all is well but will be keeping either way wil be loved just the same but I am worried as already have an autistic son who needs lots of care . Plz cross ur fingers for me x

I have never been so big with a pregnancy and am so uncomfortable.

Hold the GD has been kind to you, are you all prepared?

Bumblebee84 I went in on 10thto be induced after a couple of episodes of reduced movement, which thankfully where nothing to worry about. I was to be induced on the 18th due to my GD. Anyway went in on the 10th, to start induction. Peccaries failed, so waters broke on the thursday 13th, and drip which ended in C Sec early hours of Good Friday!!.My big baby was actually only 6lb 13. She is just beautiful.

Please let me now how you got on, I'm eager to know your news :)

Awe yay! Congratulations to you! Such a tiny baby for you 😊 Sorry induction didn't go to plan but but I'm so pleased she arrived safely. I assume your both doing well?

I'm off to be induced Thursday 20th. Getting nervous now, I've never been induced and heard so many stories. 😬
I'm pretty sure my plugsbeen coming away so I'm hanging on to hope that she'll come before in the next day.

I'm so pleased for you, I shall check in in a few days time and then next week I should hopefully have the eargerly awaited answers I've needed for so long. 😊

I must say coi I too didn't want to keep asking but often thought of you.

I delivered my beautiful baby girl on Friday eve. She was a tiny 5lb 12 and not a single sign of Down syndrome.
Although we still have to wait for the umbilical blood test to confirm her bloodline the paediatric doctor feels she's a "chrome typical" baby she's extremely strong and 100% perfection.
Induction was very straight forward with a fast delivery.
Thank you both for the fantastic supper through my journey 😊

Sweetchilli how's things with your little one going?

I just wanted to let you both know we finally got our results and our little girl is chrome typical and all t21 cells we're confined to the placenta. 😁
