Midwife phoned to tell me my results show i am 1 in 5 at risk of T21.

I was taken aback really and wasn't really listening to the results she explained.

She went on and explained about diagnostic testing and to discuss with Hubby.

She said the scan was fine, just the bloods

I have decided to have the amnio test after she explained the risk and % of miscarriage .
Has anyone any advice on this? like does the procedure hurt? how long do results take etc.

Im frightened :(
This is my 1st pregnancy and I'm 39 at the end of the month.

i will keep everything crossed... Ive got my 20 week scan on the 12th so will defo remember yours. :)

Ive been given the 29th April? they said i will probably go early. I have no idea why this is?. I think maybe its something to do with having a subchronic haemorrhage ?

I've been given May the second but my due date which is much more accurate as I know exactly when I conceived is April 28th. I will stand by my date 😊
My step daughter is April 29th 😊

Ultra sound today was all clear and a perfectly "Normal" developing baby.
Specialist on Monday....fingers crossed

Thats good Bumblebee84 Hope there is further good news tomorrow for your other scan.

I have my 20 week scan tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed everything looks ok. Im 20+1 today and sometimes i don't even think im pregnant. I poke my belly to check there is something in there :S

Good luck sweetchilli, got everything crossed for you. I'm sure everything will be okSmile I have just had first af and if it is a normal cycle I'm hoping next week is the week we make a baby. I miss having a little baby in my tummy so much xx

Thankyou both, sweetchillie we shall be awaiting good news for the other.
My 3 appointments are starting at lunch. I'm nervous but so much more relaxed than I thought I would be.
I've done lots of pink shopping now to ensure I'm ready for my little girl, x

Bumblebee84 Im also having a girl, found that out at the harmony at 15 weeks, it feels like ages ago now. That will will be 2 girls for us :)

Everything all good sweetchilli?
My specialist appointments were by far the most confusing and complex appointments I've ever known!
the cardiologist is 95% sure our little girls heart is perfect but was unsure if she could see a tiny shadow at certain angles for the tiniest of hole (no concern if it is as it's so small anyway) so will see us in 4 weeks time when little lady is a fair bit bigger.

Genetics come next......well they were dumbfounded! Can't give me any results as they just don't know if my princess is affected or if it's confined placental mosaics and cells leaked to the amniotic fluid. (Rare but possible! And lates face it this whole situation is very rare)
They were even more puzzled by the perfect heart. They have looked at my partners and my blood to check for translocation in us both.
Also offered us an invasive test taking blood from princesses kidneys! (Not happening!) but that will only give a difinitive yes....no yes to mosaic and no no to mosaics

Then the fetal medicine ultrasound.....perfect baby girl all on target with growth no abnormalities spotted just one soft marker of slight sandel toe gap. (My eldest daughter and I have a slight gap)
My step son also has flat feet with spaced out toes) so no massive concern.

Now to just be closely monitored for any major changes but they don't appear to be expecting any.

Gosh......all so confusing!

When my sister was pregnant was was around 1/40 but they did like a blood test that got sent to America was supposedly 100% safe for the baby. It was on the NHS

Goodness that is confusing! It does look positive though amongst all the confusing bits! What a stressful time you have had with all of this! Thankyou for keeping us posted, I always wonder how you are getting on xx

Coi it has been a real roller coaster of uncertainty. But as long as her health is ok anything else is manageable.
We have the genetics team more confused than they have ever been 😂.
They have never seen our case and by the sounds of it neither had the lab.

Hi girls. Thanks Bumblebee84 scan was good. Nothing to report. Everything appeared as it should for now. And confirmation of a girl for the 3rd time....She looks so big now and I'm actually feeling her kick .This is my 1st pregnancy however i have an adopted baby girl of 9 months after TCC for 6 years and being told we couldn't have children....So i feel relived now.

But never mind me, what the bloody hell is going on eh? You are another one i am defo gonna stalk throughout this pregnancy. Seriously though if even the doctors are clueless then i just don't know.....Like you said though. If you are guaranteed not other health needs then it makes things easier to manage with if you know what i mean....

Hope your ok Coi123 baby making haha

Oh sweetchilli, that is so lovely. I'm so pleased for you.
I just don't know what to expect anymore....I'm just holding on to the fact my little girl is showing all the right signs.
This pregnancy is so complicated and when specialists have no answers it really does create a roller coaster of mixed emotions.
Coi were both hanging in there for your news now hehe.
I will update you both on my very odd and unique journey.
Have a lovely Christmas if I don't get a chance to post before. X

I'm home early with a cup of tea and chocolate, I wish I could say I'm not drinking because I'm pregnant but af showed her face on Wednesday :-( I knew I would have been lucky to have conceived first time since my loss but you still live in hope. 2017 is going to be a better year I know it. Healthy little babies on the way for you ladies too :-) happy new year to you all xxx

I slept from around 9:45 😂 I counted the new year and my birthday in the best possible way......sleeping.
Coi may 2017 bring you a beautiful pregnancy with no worries and stress. X

Update:
Fetal medicines ultrasound that we had now shows no sandal gap, he thinks she was flexing her toes.
And his opinion is no hole in her heart. 😊
Everything is very much pointing in the right direction.
As you can see perfect little feet.....except she has daddies slightly longer second toe.🙈
