not to want to be all lighthearted and forgiving about the troll invasion?

I don't get the 'fun' of invading another site and causing real upset to real people. I trust people on mumsnet and respond genuinely to them, and now I wish I hadn't - and that has upset me.

I'm sure this is going to get me labelled a humourless sourpuss over on CUK - but then I reckon I am already one of the "...rampaging horde of offended lardbuckets..." they refer to, or perhaps one of the ".... small clique of salad-dodging, vindictive, manic-depressive yet very vocal inadequates..." who is "...likely to go blubbing to the Admin if anyone does not treat them with kid gloves?..." (not that I did go to Admin, but hey, why spoil a good insult with facts).

Oh come on you are being a bit unreasonable here.

nickelbabe · 31/03/2010 17:54

she's not.

you may swear too, Mrs FA

nickelbabe · 31/03/2010 17:54

oh, btw, it's YABabitU

usualsuspect · 31/03/2010 17:55

How weird ...sounds like something my 17 year old ds would do...

CwtchyMama · 31/03/2010 17:56

I think its quite funny, i can see you being drawn in by MN, you want to stay don't you? Don't you?

CUKAmbassador · 31/03/2010 17:56

I couldn't possibly use bad language whatever would my DC think!

nickelbabe · 31/03/2010 17:57

if you say it on here, you're less likely to say it IRL.

go on:

i'll start you off:

this is like virtual chase me chase me....

NormalityBites · 31/03/2010 18:02

I thought it was fairly amusing actually, though I have gone and created a public profile page in case I arouse suspicion....I've not been posting in AIBU that long but have a click and you can see I'm no newbie So I guess it's a 'bad' thing as it does erode trust. But I don't much mind as I don't trust anyone here anyway

2shoeskickedtheeasterbunny · 31/03/2010 18:03

when did all this happen?

coldtits · 31/03/2010 18:06

But MrsFully, I'm a mother, and that makes me too thick to get through the three step registration process

MrsFullyautomatix · 31/03/2010 18:07

Nickelbabe, I swear you cannot get any swear words out of even if you make me watch Jeremy Kyle the whole day. We really are a very cultured bunch out there on CUK, so much so our admin has filted out every possible swear word. We are forced to say "tulip" when we actually mean "shit".

CwtchyMama · 31/03/2010 18:09

Seriously? You cannot say shit?

coldtits · 31/03/2010 18:10

See, mN is so trolltastic, I'm not even convinced you are from CUK. I suspect you might be just a domestic troll, dressing up in man's clothes.

That's how mistrustful and aggressive we are.

DuelingFanjo · 31/03/2010 18:12

Well, I have just read all of the thread over there on their forums and I think mosty it's hilarious that they chose mumsnet without realising that we are more than used to crazydoolaly threads started by nutjobs and without realising how fast mumsnet really is.

Picking on a forum without moderators and the PM system is made of fail.

I missed most of the threads and now they are all deleted dammit!

GrimmaTheNome · 31/03/2010 18:12

The thing about MN is there's so many valid reasons for us to talk about sex (TTC), shit(potty training), breasts (BFing) that there is absolutely no point trying to moderate our language. And there are gardening threads so you need to know you're planting a tulip rather than a euphemism.

See, boys: Grimma made one comment and it's funnier than all your threads.

I think I shall be using 'planting a tulip' as my euphemism of choice for a while, Grimma.

GrimmaTheNome · 31/03/2010 18:28

See, I've a permanent job writing scientific software. IT consultant types are mere underlings.

If I had to come up with a floral euphemism it'd be euphorbia.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 31/03/2010 18:45

I'm beginning to feel a bit forgiving. And someone needs to go and tell 'Coco' that I've just made meat and potato pie - from scratch. When the poor lad recovers, that is.

I never realised Trolls would be so organised and planned. I mean, in the pre invasion threads they chose the invasion date and did a bit of research.
I thought trolls were bored schoolboys and hairy truckers.

I liked them, they were funny.

Spidermama · 31/03/2010 18:56

I want a link to the MN threads in question. I don't like the CUK thread link. I just can't get on with it.

Have the MN threads been deleted then and if so, why?

DuelingFanjo · 31/03/2010 18:58

"mothers not being able to navigate your registration procedure (per the link to CUK) would probably put off most women"

it made me laugh

Kaloki · 31/03/2010 18:59

What's the average age on CUK? I haven't known anyone above the age of 16 to organise a board invasion!
