AIBU or are DM and DH dirty ?

I clean the fridge and freezers out every week, rotate the stock etc. Dishwash the fridge shelves and racks. My mum and DH think this is ridiculous and that I am obsessed with it.

I should say that I used to be a pastry chef in a 5* hotel and we stripped and cleaned our service fridge and rotated the stock daily so my clean-fridge obsession is probably a hangover from that. I am rather Monica about the house which again stems from 10 years in luxury hotels.

I moved int my house 10 months ago and have cleaned the fridge once... but I do regularly clear out old food.

Rotating food so you remember to eat the older stuff is just sensible. The weekly cleaning is ... erm ... unusual.

I clean my fridge when I notive it is looking grimy or getting a bit stinky which is approx every 6 weeks or so, unless I defrost fish in there.

no , id say your normal..... you are supposed to clean your fridge/freezer ,they are a breeding ground for bacteria if theyre left. can you imagine how bad a fridge would smell if it was never cleaned?

I'm most impressed and full of envy you have a dishwasher to take care of such a laborious job - i try to avoid taking out the racks etc as they are such a pain to clean in the sink as they're so big.

I didn't notice the freezer bit. No I only clean my freezer once there is too much ice to be able to fit any food in there
