I'm genuinly interested in why you object to homosexuality, and everytime I ask on the other thread it gets lost in the general hubbub.

So - name change if you want, but please tell me what your objections are?

If it's because it's not natural or against biology, please expand your answer to include why you care about that.

Flaming - sorry missed your post from before. What I haven't seen from you (unless I've missed it) is an explantaion of why what is natural/unnatural should change anyones behaviour. As you are expressedly not religous I would be particularly interested to hear your views on this,

You never answered my question Flamin; why did you cowardly name change if you are so sure you are right? Is it because you are actually rather ashamed of yourself and your views and know how abhorrent they are? If not, why hide?

Has anyone pointed out that being homosexual doesn't have to mean you have anal sex. It might well lead to that, but I doubt the homophobes would feel any happier about a homosexual man who preferred oral sex.

Also they seem to have forgotten about Lesbians who probably don't have anal sex very often.

Also this whole thing about the way some homosexuals conduct the dating thing misses a point as it has to be much more difficult for gay people.

As a man I could go to any pub and chat to a woman. It's a pretty safe bet that our gender preference would match up and if I buy her a couple of drinks she has an idea what I might be after. If not or if she doesn't fancy me she can walk away. If I were homosexual and chatted to a man that would be trickier wouldn't it. So the way it's done can't be quite the same.

I think there's another factor too. This is just my theory, but when I was young I was willing (desperate ) to have sex with any woman who'd have me. Any time and anywhere. Most young men are like that, but don't get to hop from bed to bed (I certainly didn't) because most young girls were after something a little more stable (or at least to talk a bit first)

So if I were a young gay man and wanting to have sex every 20 minutes and in a gay bar full of other young men who felt the same... I'd have probably got in the Guinness book of records for quantity if not quality.

I was going to return and respond to this thread but Flamingfedup has got be either a homosexual and suppressed and ashamed or over seventy. I cannot believe anyone would be so naive and pointless. None of her arguments stand up to any reason, just wrong and not natural, arguing that the ONLY point of sex is to procreate (must tell DH next time he wants to 'talk to the canoe driver' that he really shouldn't because it's not natural and no babies will come)have no place in an intelligent conversation or debate. This woman is too backward in her views to engage with.

Gosh, I hope that reads as if Flame has such strong feelings toward homosexuality that if she accepts it she fears her true self will reveal, and the internal struggle with oneself is usually apparent in exaggerated feelings of fear and loathing.

Actually you know what. I was not being cowardly in changing my name, just thought I might want to continue posting on MN on other threads without being continually castigated as a evil 'homophobe'. Obviously the freedom is express your true beliefs is confined only to those whose beliefs match everyone elses .

As it is I realise I don't want to continue conversing with people who are up their own arses and believe they and only they are right, and demonise people who have their own minds and don't follow the popular views.
