My DS loves Cbeebies, obviously and there are some fantastic programmes on there that are soooo good for children. However there is also a load of shite that my DS will watch (he would watch anything if I let him) but I REALLY REALLY hate. Carries and Davids Popshop? WTF is this crap? Is it just me or is Timmy from Timmy Time a spoilt little brat (I like the others, its just Timmy), Chuggington does my effing head in, as do the Numberjacks, especially number 3, another spoilt little shit!

New one, Guess with Jess, bloody crap, can't they just stick to Postman Pat which is great. Where has Something Special gone? Gigglebiz, excuse for Justin to prat about in more costumes and Dirtgirlworld? WTF is that creepy shit? Also the title sounds like some dodgy porn site.

Love Waybuloo, can tolerate In the Night Garden (except the episodes when Upsy Daisy 'sings' or the Tombliboos play 'music'), and others that I have a total blank on.

I think I need to step away from the tv.

You're right about Gigglebiz and Dirgirlworld. They creep me and my dd out, as does Lazytown. She's only just stopped crying at Big Cock Little Cock, but I can't bear it. To me they're just 2 crap actors thrown into some chefs clothes and manhandling vegetables into a face shape. Yuck.

But they do make some good stuff: Show Me Show Me is my dd's fave. It reminds me of Play Away. Then ITNG and Timmy Time. My dd also loves Nina and the Neurons and Waybaloo, but I don't like it's hippy dippy-ness and made up words. Cute yoga though.

I have to say, I thank god for it at least twice a day!

I'd forgotten that my dd likes Jakers, not sure why. currently though it's all Sarah Jane, Dani's house, my almost famous family and my personal favourite sorry I've got no head. thank goodness she is growing up and would prefer toread. Saraj Jane and her sonic lipstick have a lot to answer for though. From what I understand, it's a spin off from Dr Who. I was away for the night, dd heard the name of some monster or other mentioned, watched Dr Who and had some serious sleep issues for a couple of weeks. I asked her why she'd watched it and she just gave me the blathareen answer. I asked dh why he'd let her watch it and he said he was cooking her dinner and didn't realise. Well fuck me dead, the kitchen is open plan, the telly is there and she had pizza. I don't think he was being entirely truthful.

Gawd yes Popshop is utter tripe. The whole concept is very wrong, feeding the idea that pop music is the be all and end all, and children from preschool onwards should aspire to be rich and famous pop stars

I think cbeebies programmes are a lot better than some of the crap on cbbc like 'Ive got no head' WTF? At least cbeebies programmes treat children like they have some level of intelligence whereas a lot of cbbc programmes are just stupid. I teach 10 year olds and they are so much more intelligent than the programmes made for them.

YANBU - some cbeebies programmes are terrible. Dirtgirlworld is the worst - she has strange real people eyes.
Why don't you buy some cheap dvds from asda so you can pick and choose what you want to watch. It's what I plan on doing when my little one comes along.
Also - please don't assume I watch cbeebies myself haha I have a 2 year old nephew.
