..to get really annoyed at some Cbeebies programmes?

My DS loves Cbeebies, obviously and there are some fantastic programmes on there that are soooo good for children. However there is also a load of shite that my DS will watch (he would watch anything if I let him) but I REALLY REALLY hate. Carries and Davids Popshop? WTF is this crap? Is it just me or is Timmy from Timmy Time a spoilt little brat (I like the others, its just Timmy), Chuggington does my effing head in, as do the Numberjacks, especially number 3, another spoilt little shit!

New one, Guess with Jess, bloody crap, can't they just stick to Postman Pat which is great. Where has Something Special gone? Gigglebiz, excuse for Justin to prat about in more costumes and Dirtgirlworld? WTF is that creepy shit? Also the title sounds like some dodgy porn site.

Love Waybuloo, can tolerate In the Night Garden (except the episodes when Upsy Daisy 'sings' or the Tombliboos play 'music'), and others that I have a total blank on.

I think I need to step away from the tv.

I'm with puffling - bring back Storymakers. Milton Wordsworth rocks. Love Blue Cow, but could do without the Jack Spratt and Treacle Cat. Our two dvds are scratched to hell but DS insists on watching what's left nearly every day.

DS loves I can cook, but that Katy chick is awful. She seems incredibly awkward and the kid giggles in the background do my head in.

He also loves Space Pirates, but I think it's disappeared.

randomama · 22/11/2009 21:45

sorry 50ftqueenie (GREAT name btw ) but euuww. he's so hardbodied and lantern jawed. it's unnerving [shudder]

hanaboo · 22/11/2009 21:45

flabby.. lol my dd does that too, it was sweet at first but now, not so much

why do people dislike nick jr?

preggersplayspop · 22/11/2009 21:48

My DS has the good taste to shout at me to turn over if Carrie and David come on. I wish she would change her clothes as well, those jeans must HONK by now.

I can't stand Waybuloo, its so drippy.

I do like Big Cook though, but DS won't let me watch that either. He liked numberjacks, but that seems to be a flash in the pan.

I find Gigglebiz a little disturbing. Justin likes dressing up as laydee too much for my liking.

I like the Sid and Andy dancing to numbers though!

smokinaces · 22/11/2009 21:48

didnt StoryMakers get pulled when the guy from Red Dwarf attacked the binmen and got some kind of criminal record? (wasnt he Milton Wordsworth?)

I ADORE show me show me. 9am is shower time here - the boys adore it. They love every aspect, especially show me your groovy moves and DS2 (20m) favourite thing is to dance and sing and then shout "freeze"!

DS1 loves the new I can Cook and keeps asking me if he can go on it with Katie. I can ignore the programme thankfully.

I hate Carrie & David. I can cope with Timmy. I ignore Tommy Zoom (though the theme tune gets stuck in my head)

I love Waybalu as both boys sit doing the yoga moves and look so sweet. ITNG was avoided like the plague with DS1 but DS2 loves the dancing and does great Upsy Daisy and Iggle Piggle impressions! God, we have cbeebies on far too much

(and the seasonal songs are ace - and the nighttime song at the very end is lovely, DS2 has it sung to him every nap and nighttime to get him ready for bed and adores it!)

mrscrocoduck · 22/11/2009 21:52

Can you seriously NOT see that sportacus is fit????? WTF indeed!!!! WOOF WOOF. You can make him do multiple super push ups online... ahem.

GreenPenguin · 22/11/2009 21:54

Forget Sportacus - Robbie Rotton is my man.

smokinaces · 22/11/2009 22:01

I always think of Sportacus as swedish porn for housewives

Sidge · 22/11/2009 22:11

I tolerate Lazytown with this in mind - puts Sportacus in a whole different light!

I can't bear Popshop, Big Cock Little Cock, Toomy Zoom, Chuggington, Finley the Fire Engine, Dirtgirlworld and Numberjacks.

However I do like Gigglebiz (Arthur Sleep and Gail Force crack me up!) and Show Me Show Me. We also love Something Special, Me Too, Mr Maker, Charlie and Lola and Balamory chez Sidge.

50ftQueenie · 22/11/2009 22:12

Why thank you randomama.

mrscrocoduck - That is impressive isn't it? He is really cute without the tash too. He was on Comic Relief last time and did a sideways handstand from a lamp post. Oh dear. But really, Mr Maker?

Greenpenguin -EEEEWWWWW!!!!!! I assume you are joking. He has a small button mushroom where is cock should be!

50ftQueenie · 22/11/2009 22:13

Sidge - Is that Sportacus? Wow and yum.

50ftQueenie · 22/11/2009 22:15

DH tells me that Sportacus is also loaded as he came up with the Lazytown concept.

randomama · 22/11/2009 22:19

i still prefer Andy
and mister maker

Sidge · 22/11/2009 22:20

50ftQueenie yup, that's the man sans moustache and dodgy blue lycra outfit - much better eh??

Hard to believe he's 45!

monkeysmama · 22/11/2009 22:24

Mister Maker and Sportacus .

I have a secret crush on Andy - but not in the autumn sequence where he eats like a pig!

50ftQueenie · 22/11/2009 22:34

Andy freaks me out. I find him strangely repulsive. It could be because he reminds me of my friend's ex-h who is a twunt of the highest order.

I still can't believe that you find Mr Maker attractive. I went to school with him don't you know. He tried to 'get off' with me at every school disco.

monkeysmama · 22/11/2009 22:38

That is so cool-Mister Maker! That's a great story .

SolidGoldBangers · 22/11/2009 22:47

My shitlist includes...
Toddworld (thankfully not on at the moment), inane moralizing drivel that's like being hit on the head with a board
CLifford and any variations thereof, American shite
Fucking Waybuloo, like Toddworld only twee and pink and simpering.
Oh, and Turd and Bird as well. Muffin wants spitroasting.

fledtoscotland · 22/11/2009 22:58

YANBU. DS1 loves Popshop and now that the slot has been moved to his allocated 45mins tv in the mornings, I'm doomed! he "dances" along clearly loving it. He also loves Bits n Bobs which is ok. He sometimes watches another 20mins or so before bathtime as DS2 adores ITNG and Waybaloo which I dont mind so much.

We dont really ever see any of the other programmes as if the TV ever goes on during the day (illness, MN time, etc etc ) DS1 would choose to watch a Thomas DVD

the porcupines in the Night Garden have a savage flatus problem.

Sportacus is fit. Wow, what a difference in that photo just by shaving the tash off.

wolfear · 22/11/2009 23:19

Pontipines

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 22/11/2009 23:43

Had to have a snigger at the Boogie Beebies bloke exhorting us to 'do a move as if you're stroking up and down a giant courgette'. And yes, that episode does seem to be on rather a lot.

JaceyBee · 22/11/2009 23:55

My kids have just got into Nick Jr/cartoon network etc and I now long for the Halcyon days of CBeebies. Now all I get is 'Mummy I want one of those' after every single fucking advert. Having said that, Me Too, Carrie and David, Come Outside, Big Twat Little Twat and especially Boogie cunting Beebies are absolute shit. Love Timmy though, and Chris and Pui are sweet.

alwayslookingforanswers · 23/11/2009 00:00

You're right - you do need to step away from the TV...........it's made for kids not you - and if it all appealed to us (the parents) and not the children we'd all be up in arms that our little brats darlings wouldn't shut up and sit down didn't like it
