NHS and ARMED FORCES

am I being unreasonable to suggest the government gives money to the NHS and to our forces who are both in need of equipment, rather than hand out money to immigrants and assylum seekers?
I have just come out of hospital, it wasnt the cleanest of places, and there only seemed to be one nurse on the whole ward!!! with other care assistants, but the care I received was second to none and the girls did a sterling job as do our boys fighting in substandard kit.
It annoys me at all the handouts our government gives in benefits to people who come to our country looking for a better life. Also we are told the country will take 5 years to recover from the recession, so why for the love of God did we ever agree to hold the olypics here???????

you have missed your vocatation in life Clemette you really should be an English teacher or on that Shitty program countdown!
I have more important things to think about than my spelling and punctuation on a forum.

And on that note goodnight and thanks everyone x

You keep threatening to leave OP and then, um, staying.

I don't think that assylum seekers or people who migrate to this country to have it easy Maturestudent.

I think it is pretty hard going to gain permanant residency and i do not believe that huge amounts of money is handed out.

I worked with a wonderful nurse who had been in this country a good few years, she phoned up to see how her application was going as her husband degree had ended (this is how she had a work permit) and quick as a flash she had been denied and had to leave a job she was great at,for the NHS no less and go back to Zimbabwe and all the troubles there.

She was supporting her family as much as she could as well.

Makes me feel very sad, sometimes i wish people could step back and actually listen to your fellow humans lifes and reasons rather than paint everyone with that same old brush.

I think you forgot the decimal point in your IQ score, surely its 14.0?
And did you miss the bit in basic psychology that debunks IQ scores...?

chegirl · 24/07/2009 23:56

Well before you go. Are you saying that you retract everything you wrote in your OP? Apart from the Olympic thing which I am quite looking forward to BTW.

If you dont mean asylum seekers, you know there are boys and girls in the army and in nursing, you think its British scroungers that are the problem, you dont think the NHS is falling apart and actually immigrants are pretty hardworking (doing the jobs we wont) - shouldnt you have phrased your opening post slightly differently?

It wouldve saved an awful lot of confusion.

clemette · 25/07/2009 00:01

Perhaps unsurprisingly my "vocatation" until last week was teaching. MN is "over-run" with teachers don't-you-know .

Scorpette · 25/07/2009 01:10

Now you're no longer pursuing your vocatation, clemette, you'll have plenty of time to watch lots of great tv 'programs'.

MENSA my arse. Don't even believe she's a student; most people in academia, even at undergraduate level, would be ashamed of displaying appalling spelling, grammar and punctuation (never mind such hysterical, unfocussed, ignorant, unfounded ranting that she keeps changing and is unable to back up) - even in a casual setting like this. Please let her be a troll - the alternative is terrifying.

Everything I want to say has already been said. It's loons like this that are a danger to our society, not the innocent, decent people they hate so irrationally.

Alambil · 25/07/2009 01:12

does an IQ of over 140 not include intelligence to spell or use paragraphing in prose?

FFS type properly. I can't read your post.

From a "benefits scrounger" who also has a degree TVM.

EachPeachPearMum · 25/07/2009 02:51

Perhaps it is the BTEC course, rather than the degree course she is studying? She said she came top- not that she got a first...

wilf- I thought you were more northerly than midlands? (m c r)

Qally · 25/07/2009 10:54

Eachpeach - she said, "I have just come out this year as top student with a 1st in all subjects taken". BTEC would make more sense, but tbh I think troll makes most of all.

EachPeachPearMum · 25/07/2009 11:32

sorry- twas the wee hours, and I read it as she came 1st...

well, considering the rant against lazy indiginous types, you think she'd have done something about her own children, non?
