I am immediately deeply suspicious if I go into a house and cannot see books.

Even some of DW's teaching colleagues think that you have to "box them up" to make your house look more "minimalist"

VinegarTits · 29/06/2009 10:43

exactly gemmie i dont just watch eastenders

ok...you're into all things techie....i could go onto amazon and find you loads of books that would interest you..some non-fiction ones too!....do you know the history of the computer?...do you know about mistakes computers can make?...do you know who started facebook?

VinegarTits · 29/06/2009 10:44

UD what are you suspicious of?

OP posts:
UnquietDad · 29/06/2009 10:45

Maybe suspicious is the wrong word. I just wonder why there are no books. I (maybe wrongly) assume I am in a household which does not value reading and I assume straight away that I will not get on with these people.

lol @ 'I'm not depressed or sad, i feel sorry for you feeling depressed and sad for me'

i go through phases of reading and then not reading. i find 'avid readers' a tad dull tbh.

VinegarTits · 29/06/2009 10:47

Thanks DP but i dont want to read computer books, i already know the history of the computer i know all about artifical intelligence and the mistakes computers can make (got a degree in them), i dont particulary want to know what created FB

I read books at Uni, only because i had to

chaya, I love books (hence my post below), but my children don;t....well, they read, but they don;t devour books in the way I do.

doesn;t make me sad..........I am thrilled that they have their own interests and are happy enough with what they love to do.

plus, they leave my books alone.

that said, DD3 might well have been the same as me book-wise had she been an 'only' (she is my only one to request books for presents)..she gets occupied instead with her siblings making up shows for us.

VinegarTits · 29/06/2009 10:51
