as you were ladies.

OP posts:
Stayingsunnygirl · 22/04/2009 21:35

I'm good at marrying money - but AIBU to think that marrying a banker might not have been the best course of action in the current economic climate? And when the credit crunch bites me, AIBU to resort to crime and end up back in the same prison where I was born?

MoominMymbleandMy · 22/04/2009 22:10

Sunny, I definitely was on the wrong track there - I was thinking of the Marshalsea!

Now, I think Newgate might be a lot nearer the mark. Are you a bit of a moll?

Stayingsunnygirl · 22/04/2009 22:15

Gosh I think you've got me, Moomin. Would I be unreasonable to insist that Alex Kingston play me in the film of my life??

MoominMymbleandMy · 22/04/2009 22:24

I am sniggering at how wide of the mark I was. Can you imagine two heroines with less in common than the one born in the Marshalsea, and the one in Newgate!

Stayingsunnygirl · 22/04/2009 22:25

Errmmm - if I could work out the one who was born in the Marshalsea, perhaps I could answer that question. [thicksunny emoticon]

MoominMymbleandMy · 22/04/2009 22:27

You know that she is little....

Stayingsunnygirl · 22/04/2009 22:56

I got it but with a little help from google - sadly I possess almost no books at all by that author. I won't say, because I didn't get it on my own.

Mind you - I got Winnie the Pooh stuck in Rabbit's front door all on my own!! [cleversunny emoticon]

MoominMymbleandMy · 22/04/2009 23:24

I had to grab our copy to check because I'd forgotten about Rabbit using him as a towel rack! Good thinking on Rabbit's part though.

"Never laugh at live ---," is my lightweight's motto.

Night Sunny .

Stayingsunnygirl · 23/04/2009 00:11

Night Moomin - sweet dreams!

salome64 · 23/04/2009 14:43

Off for a few days, but hope this'll still be here when I get back. see you later!

Stayingsunnygirl · 23/04/2009 15:00

Oooh - we can spend the next few days thinking up real puzzlers to stump you with when you return, Salome!

Have a good time, wherever it is that you are going!

MoominMymbleandMy · 23/04/2009 19:00

Have a good time Salome. We'll try to have a real horror awaiting you.

Now this poor adventurer without a clean handkerchief, on his travels he acquired a very unusual piece of jewellery...

Pogleswood · 23/04/2009 19:10

Moomin, are you a hobbit? In which case the handkerchief and liking for mushrooms have completely passed me by,and I can't check as I can't find the book!We had 2 copies at one point, both DH and I brought a copy to the marriage!
Need to brood a bit on some new AIBUs I think.

MoominMymbleandMy · 23/04/2009 22:03

Bilbo Baggins at your service, and your family's, Pogle!

AIBU to despair at my plight? I am stranded at sea with only a wild beast for company!

Poledra · 23/04/2009 22:52

Evening all
I really haven't been a mainstay of this thread, but am indebted to Moomin and Salome for keeping it going

Will bump my last one and add some more to it.

Anyway, I have been having an affair with my DH's best friend since, oh, before we were married. They're such opposites - DH is conservative both politically and, erm, sexually, and his friend is, well, not. AIBU in thinking I can keep the affair going without anyone finding out, even though his best friend is a journalist?

Poledra · 23/04/2009 22:52

Moomin have no idea what your last one is. Any more info?

MoominMymbleandMy · 23/04/2009 22:57

Well, I have no clue on yours, and am wodering whether it might be a bit too grown up/modern for me?

Further clues..I don't really think IABU to despair. I've just watched my ship sink and my companion isn't what you'd call cuddly.

MoominMymbleandMy · 23/04/2009 22:58

Wondering, even, oops!

Poledra · 23/04/2009 23:04

Are you looking forward to Friday Moomin?

And yes, mine is modern, so perhaps not your thing. I'll have a thing about some more classic literature, if I can.

MoominMymbleandMy · 23/04/2009 23:17

I do read some modern stuff, DCs permitting, but a lot of this thread has been me coasting on my childless youth .

I always look forward to Fridays but my hero's companion wasn't brought up to think you shouldn't eat meat on Fridays.

Nor has he been told you can gatecrash mother and DD tea parties. Not that there are any at sea.

Pogleswood · 23/04/2009 23:21

Have been looking for a tutor for m'son and m'ward, now the lad has found one in the forest - seems an odd chappie though. AIBU to let him have the job?

Poledra · 23/04/2009 23:24

Have cheated and googled, Moomin, so will leave it there for others. Haven't read that book or even really heard the synopsis (though I do remember it winning the Booker).

MoominMymbleandMy · 23/04/2009 23:36

Poledra, as someone else said, googling shows initiative! It just never seems to work when I try it (thickie or what).

Pogle, please a wee bit more help, this is ringing vague bells and it's going to haunt me all tomorrow.

MoominMymbleandMy · 23/04/2009 23:47

AIBU to think my beautiful, intelligent, high-class girlfriend is never going to stick around with a pleb like me?

Pogle, please! The Secret Garden???

Night bookworms

Pogleswood · 23/04/2009 23:53

The owl seems eccentric too...
Goodnight all!
