as you were ladies.

OP posts:
TheScatterGunApproach · 20/04/2009 15:06

I am one of three hard-working farmers in my neighbourhood.

Vermin (we have narrowed it down to one creature in particular) keep burrowing into our storerooms and stealing our livelihoods!

AWBU to out the animal down?

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/04/2009 15:06

Ah, but he is a bit fantastic!

TheScatterGunApproach · 20/04/2009 15:09

Yes!

I meant put, not out. He doesnt need to be outed as he is happily married to Mrs Fox!

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/04/2009 15:33

AIBU to worry about my DD? We are meant to be on a relaxing family holiday but my DD keeps wandering off to explore. She's also demanding more snacks, especially buns, to take with her.
Now, I'm wondering whether she may have found an undesirable playmate. Please advise!

TippytheTipsyTurkeychick · 20/04/2009 17:03

buns hmmm? currant ones?

AIBU to think that Black Boy needs to buck his ideas up? Mummy says I just need to Do The Right Thing, while my BF Anne says he needs to let off steam at the local show. But if that ghastly pot-hunter Susan Pyke is there, I just know I won't do well. I've just blued all my winnings (six shillings) on some yellow string gloves too.

Nekabu · 20/04/2009 17:10

I'm sure you'll do fine in the bending ...

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/04/2009 17:12

All buns, but especially almond ones.

Alas, utterly clueless on pony books.

Pogleswood · 20/04/2009 20:49

moomin, you may find your detestable acquaintance is irritating others too.I'd advise squashing her down, that type of person so easily gets above themselves - she'll be Lady Mayoress next!(perhaps you should check out her italian?...)

And Tippy, I know Black Boy isn't the perfect pony, but he'll be fine at the gymkana..

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/04/2009 21:16

Nice one Pogle, I'm getting a bit sick of her progress and I'm out to make trouble.

This pony book is famous, is it? Didn't do ponies...

Quattrocento · 20/04/2009 21:17

Oh It's Ruby Ferguson and the Jill books ... gosh I hadn't thought about those for decades ...

Simplysally · 20/04/2009 21:27

AIBU? My son and niece have taken up with some children who sound quite nice and it's good as I have just opened up a small hotel so I don't have much time to do things with them. Their new friends seem very independant and seem to have had some jolly adventures in the Welsh mountains last year.

They seem to have run up against some very undesirable types this year though, an odd-looking woman wearing very thick glasses and a strange-looking man and I wonder if I should do something about this?

Quattrocento · 20/04/2009 21:29

YANBU she is very odd indeed, is Mrs Ballinger. You should make them stay at home with Macbeth

Simplysally · 20/04/2009 21:33

Gosh that was quick .

TippytheTipsyTurkeychick · 20/04/2009 22:03

Yup to the Jill Books. I would start a string of Pullein-Thompson ones but I fear it would bore. Plus they mostly had the same plots anyway.

TippytheTipsyTurkeychick · 20/04/2009 22:05

AIBU to want a decent meal? To want to fill my hungry, empty tummy, with something yummy, yummy, yummy? My attempts to find a good dinner are thwarted at every turn by do-gooders with improbable names. I fear I will have to go home and share my woes with Not So Big.

Disenchanted3 · 20/04/2009 22:10

AIBU to go and live with the mad french old woman who tends to the labouring women of the bay? She will teach me a trade my ma says incase I never find a husband, though i do. Hes a bullysom type who eventually runs off because I ont constantly lay down with him.

All i want is a baby

orangekatie · 20/04/2009 23:14

Moomin yabu, we're only getting your side of the story and I bet your acquaintance would say that you are terribly mean-minded yourself. Anyway, at least you'll get to marry the Major and not fussy old Georgie who is definitely gay.

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/04/2009 23:18

Hmm, being a bit of thickie tonight so I will bump up mine before bedtime. My wandering DD, who may have an undesirable playmate, is now coming out with peculiar tales of mythical creatures! AIBU to be very worried indeed?

Quattrocento · 20/04/2009 23:21

Aibu to go to bed with Dick Hannay?

TippytheTipsyTurkeychick · 20/04/2009 23:21

Stumpted on yours moomin.
There can be no books left in the whole world to do though. Unless someone will admit to reading chick-lit.......

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/04/2009 23:24

Noo! Heaps of books left otherwise I might have to do something useful!

And as for my worries about DD, I always say there's no smoke without fire.

MoominMymbleandMy · 21/04/2009 00:06

Quattro, YANBU but don't let him handcuff you.

MoominMymbleandMy · 21/04/2009 21:59

Oh dear, the Serial Threadkiller strikes again

salome64 · 21/04/2009 23:28

Right. back for more. anything I've missed? (lose the will to live over pony books, despite having read them all aged 10)

salome64 · 21/04/2009 23:29

Cross at Quattro, in a jealous way, loved the lone pine five!
