as you were ladies.

OP posts:
pooka · 18/04/2009 22:16

Arthur for a girl! I wouldn't call her that even if you paid me a king's ransome.

salome64 · 18/04/2009 22:20

clearly more of a trickle tonight. I haven't read sixth seal, so that would explain it!

I await further revelations....

MariaCC · 18/04/2009 22:20

Moomin - do you think so? Maybe I should get a passage out of here. Although that didn't do my MIL any good.

salome64 · 18/04/2009 22:21

Do you feel you just need to connect, Maria?

Quattrocento · 18/04/2009 22:26

The Kraken Wakes

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 22:26

Quattro, are there any ambulant plants?

MariaCC · 18/04/2009 22:29

You're probably right salome, but I think I might do that back in middle England somewhere and never come back to this disconcerting place! Honestly I can't hear anything for this blasted echo!

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 22:32

My violinist is beginning to wonder if she is any good after all. Maybe Mary, Rose and her mother are right.
But life at home is so horrible, especially since her father started campaigning to save that murderess from the gallows.

MariaCC · 18/04/2009 22:34

Pooka - I loved Swallows and Amazons. Another to add to my list of books to re-read!

Still stumped with the violinist? Unless there was an answer for that which I missed? It's been a long day and I've glossed the front door so it's a bit fumey in here!

MariaCC · 18/04/2009 22:38

Oooh! Moomin! Are we talking about a malfunctioning water feature here?

llandb · 18/04/2009 22:40

'Biggles' would certainly fly but he needs to treat his ankle Gingerly.

AIBU to ask my three adult sons to leave home? Surely it's time they earned their own livings? (Apologies if this has already been done; we late thread joiners must be expected to be unreasonable....)

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 22:40

Indeed, we are. Take a bow! Preferably Cordelia's because the poor thing is a bit rubbish.

MariaCC · 18/04/2009 22:43

Indeed - poor love. I think she should probably try the recorder instead.

salome64 · 18/04/2009 22:47

I think I am going to have to give up on the violinist. I clearly have not read this book, and even worse, haven't heard of it (coulda blagged otherwise!)

salome64 · 18/04/2009 22:50

will somebody just tell me? moomin? Maria? anyone?!

MariaCC · 18/04/2009 22:52

The Fountain Overflows.

Not sure we've had anything from this author but I could be wrong.

AIBU to think that although I've married beneath me, DS1 is marvellous and DS2 is pretty good too (although I'm not sure I'm going to fully realise that until DS1 is dead).

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 22:52

Ooh Salome, then you are in for a treat. It's The Fountain Overflows by Rebecca West.

llandb, the three sons don't have to build their own accommodation, by any chance?

salome64 · 18/04/2009 22:56

thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou. HUGE sigh of relief. It was driving me insane!

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 22:57

Maria CC, Mmm, might there be nude wrestling with distinct homo-erotic undertones in another of your author's offerings?

llandb · 18/04/2009 23:00

Moomin, they do! They are remarkably handy at it given that they have had any formal training, although only one takes into account local natural hazards.

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 23:03

Then, llandb, I fear YANBU in the case of the older two, at least until they've learnt some self-defence.

salome64 · 18/04/2009 23:04

I don't ever want this thread to stop. But it will. And then its back out to MN wilderness. Sob.

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 23:04

Or YABU, I should say

MariaCC · 18/04/2009 23:05

Moomin - that might indeed be the case, and it's all the better for it!

Hmmmm, not sure about these three boys of yours llandb. Any more clues...

Poledra · 18/04/2009 23:07

Blardy 'ell - I was on the other thread for this, and since then haven't managed to keep up enough to either guess or post! Finally, I have caught up and cannot remember which books/plays have been done. And I reckon they're getting a touch more obscure now .

Anyway, I have been having an affair with my DH's best friend since, oh, before we were married. They're such opposites - DH is conservative both politically and, erm, sexually, and his friend is, well, not. AIBU in thinking I can keep the affair going without anyone finding out?
