as you were ladies.

OP posts:
llandb · 18/04/2009 21:34

Moomin, I thought she would Carrie it off (after all, he is to die for) but the biting bit has got me stumped.

My lad is miffed that the publishers banned girls 'cos he finds being a buff young carrot-top quite a drawcard. 'Specially when his mates are all so much older (they never seem to age much, but honestly, they've been having adventures since WW1 and still legging it in the 60s). Maybe his friend with a monocle, who comes across as a numbwit, isn't helping.

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 21:36

AIBU to want to take this carpet I bought for the children's nursery back to the shop?

I know it is secondhand but the seller assured me there was plenty of wear in it.

But, now I look at it closely it is full of holes, and burns, and sand! Hardly merchantable.

salome64 · 18/04/2009 21:42

I'd hold fire on that one, Moomin, (Or should I say Mrs B?) and think there might some wear in it yet. And I reckon you children might have a soft spot for it. And that strange pet they keep.

salome64 · 18/04/2009 21:45

I'm so fed up with my siblings. They are just sooooo snotty and up themselves. I wish I were an only child. AIBU is trying to get myself adopted by that posh bint up at the castle? Its a bit chilly, but I'm sure I'd enjoy it more than hanging out with those prigs.

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 21:47

llandb, Biggles?

salome64, you are being so dangerously clever today, surely you can advise my violinist with the dysfunctional family?

I don't think the dear DCs have any pets, not since that ratty thing they found in a sandpit.

Quattrocento · 18/04/2009 21:48

Is it looking well-travelled, Moomin? Was the sand from taking Cook to a Sunny Southern Shore?

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 21:50

Really Quattro, as though my LOs would do such a thing.
Next, you'll be suggesting they're pally with criminals!

salome64 · 18/04/2009 21:51

I am so stumped by the violinist! We've had apple bough. so can't be that. any other clues?

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 21:54

Ah, poor child, her tears are overflowing. No wonder she wants to go west.

Quattrocento · 18/04/2009 21:57

I'm stumped too

Me and my husband are journalists for the EBC and witnessed some very curious fireballs in the sky. Since then, the seawaters have risen. AIBU to have bricked up a secret store of supplies in case of food shortages?

pooka · 18/04/2009 21:57

Caveat emptor wrt to the carpet.

You never know, you might discover that it has hidden qualities once you install it in your nursery. With 5 children (and it) I would have thought that a beaten up second hand carpet would be just the thing. I bet the carpet seller has them flying off the shelves.

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 21:58

And Salome, beware of beautiful strangers bearing Turkish Delight - it's very bad for your teeth, for a start.

salome64 · 18/04/2009 21:58

Its just not happening for me! more spoonfeeding! genre? setting? aaaagghhhh!

salome64 · 18/04/2009 21:59

But moomin, its just sooooo yummy!

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 22:02

Silly me, I should have said she wants to go West.

Quattrocento · 18/04/2009 22:05

Is LLandb Jeeves? Dunno which though - there were so many!

pooka · 18/04/2009 22:05

AIBU with my choice of name for my dd2?

We did classic normal names with our first two (John and Susan if you must know) but I'm leaning towards something a bit more adventurous with dd2. But DH says no because it just makes him think of norks He is a sailor though so maybe he knows more salty names for breasts than I do.

Don't know how much say I should give him though as he is always away at sea and sends stupid cryptic telegrams about how he thinks I should let the children drown

Help!

MariaCC · 18/04/2009 22:05

Yes more please moomin - can't think what it is.

Ladies - you are all remarkably committed!

By the way AIBU to think I might be going a bit gaga? Since coming out here to meet my almost DH, everything seems a bit odd and to be honest I'm just not sure what happened in that cave!

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 22:07

Pooka, don't do it! Tis child abuse. The poor little duffer will be tempted to drown herself.

Quattrocento · 18/04/2009 22:09

EM Forster

My EBC journo is feeling neglected

pooka · 18/04/2009 22:09

But is such a beautiful name

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 22:09

Too much Indian sun, I reckon Maria CC.

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/04/2009 22:15

But Salome, I am relying on you because you are such a fountain of knowledge.

Stuck on the journo - The Sixth Seal?

MariaCC · 18/04/2009 22:15

Pooka - it is a beautiful name but think of the playground abuse! Maybe you should take a deep breath, swallow hard and think of a different name? Whatabout Arthur? That's a nice name?

salome64 · 18/04/2009 22:15

what does EBC stand for?

and what name???????

.
