Would you consider this a waste of life?

i work part time around the Dc, I also do majority around the house, food shop, bills, organisation of everything...

This morning, I dropped Dc at school, small food shop, walked Ddog, washing, picked up poo in the garden, washed up, tidied bedrooms. I was done by 10.30 and am now watching 90 day fiancee with nachos and will watch more shows Ive been looking forward to until 3, when i'll do school pick up, drop to piano lessons, dinner, washing up, homework help etc

Would you consider this a waste of life amd lazy?
Or justified and ok?

More importantly do YOU consoder it a waste of life? Thats all that matters really.

RaininSummer · Yesterday 11:17

Depends if this is a rare treat or not in my mind. Would seem a lazy thing to be doing regularly unless perhaps these are you leisure hours and you work all evening.

PollyBell · Yesterday 11:18

If we said yes then what?

PoppieCock · Yesterday 11:19

This is what I consider a waste of life.

Unless of course you're single.

GstaadGuyIsModeratelyHot · Yesterday 11:20

Everyone needs down time OP. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

SumptuousPecanNougat · Yesterday 11:20

If it was all you ever did, yes. As a treat from time to time, in amongst other activities and work? Why not? But as a PP said, if you're happy and the necessary things are getting done/bills being paid, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Has your partner complained or are you just feeling guilty for indulging yourself?

If rare - this is a wonderful decadent gratuitous treat of laziness

if frequent - yes

Boreded · Yesterday 11:22

Sounds like heaven to just take a lazy morning for yourself after doing the school run. You work and do childcare, you are entitled to some time for yourself, personally I would have had a mid-morning nap though

He doesn't know, I wouldn't say I'd been watching Tv shows for 4 hours eating treats

???

The man (I assume) who claims to love you and who is building a life and family with you, does his fair share.

Odd question.

Jimmyjumpy · Yesterday 11:29

I would if you did it every day.

It's falrly frequent-on days off. Friends all at work, Dh at work, Dc at school. I also read and take Dddog on longer walks

As a once in awhile thing I think it’s fine, if it’s more frequent then less so.

He works many more hours, feels like a piss take

That's no reason to leave almost everything to the other parent in the home you live in together.

I'd start by having a conversation with him and hopefully some changes will come from that.

The rest is irrelevant, either watch TV and eat snacks or don't.

Although you shouldn't need to keep it from him even if you do.

SumptuousPecanNougat · Yesterday 11:38

As far as frequency goes, as long as things are getting done and you aren't making yourself unwell, I don't think it really matters what anyone else thinks. Some people enjoy watching TV and snacking as a 'hobby'; others will think it's a waste of life. It's all relative. My hobbies would probably be seen as a waste of life by some people. Then those people's superior hobbies would be scoffed at by someone who devotes every waking moment to pursuing some noble endeavour or volunteering time to a charity.

WouldYouLikeAnyToast · Yesterday 11:38

You don't have to justify yourself to anyone - it's important to have down time too.
You work, do household stuff, go out for walks with the dog etc.
Are you happy watching telly and eating Doritos?. Then that's what that matters. 🙂

HylianShroom · Yesterday 11:44

I do similar on my days off. Currently sitting in bed eating an ice lolly watching a movie at 11.45am

TheLastSilverSaint · Yesterday 11:47

I really don't understand why this would be a problem. It's your free time. Why wouldn't you spend it doing whatever makes you happy? No need for all the guilt and angst.

GoddammitDonut · Yesterday 11:47

I think that sounds fucking delightful. I want nachos now, you bastard!

I'm still in bed so just being up and dressed sounds organised to me. Grin

Gonedeaf · Yesterday 11:48

For your life, no, not if that's how you wish to spend your time. For my life, yes, it would be. Each to their own.

CandyCrushLevel14809 · Yesterday 11:55

Consider it a waste of your life? I'm not in a position to judge that.
Consider it a waste of my life? Yes, if it was as often as you state. But that's just me.
Are you in good health?

takealettermsjones · Yesterday 11:59

Sorry to miss the point but I'm impressed you can do a food shop, dog walk, laundry, dishes, and tidy bedrooms in an hour and a half!
