Have you been diagnosed with, or do you suspect you might have ADHD or ASD or a combination or both?

YABU = yes
YANBU = no, I’m definitely neurotypical

No. I am NT as far as I know. Never gone for an assessment though. Same for the other 3 members of my family.
Why?

LateNightOne · 05/10/2026 21:36

Yes.
High IQ. Autism. Asbergers.
Fulltime job married 3 children if its what next question is.

DewDropsAndCobWebs · 05/10/2026 21:37

Most likely am, both of my DC are, many family members have been diagnosed, I have not been assessed as I am 1)old and 2) coping so far

CKMondlerlife · 05/10/2026 21:41

My son is diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. My sister is diagnosed with ADHD in her 40s. I believe I'm on the spectrum but not gone for a diagnosis. Just understanding how my brain works and having a reason for being different and reacting how I do has really helped.

Peachee · 05/10/2026 21:43

Just been diagnosed with ADHD - 36 2 kids, full time job. Suppose it explains why people describe me as unusual and quirky 🙃

EmbracingUncertainty · 05/10/2026 21:43

I think people are more likely to click on this thread if they are ND, so the results will be skewed…

Chilihealer · 05/10/2026 21:43

I’m diagnosed ADHD and I suspect ASD too low on the spectrum. 1 of my children is ADHD/ASD. I didn’t get diagnosed until motherhood, doctors pushed postnatal anxiety and depression. Medication didn’t work and a therapist pointed out that I’m not actually depressed or anxious and strongly suspected I had ADHD. Turns out I was fine in my little bubble of chaos until I became a mum and realised I wasn’t functioning correctly for her so I got help and I’ve learnt about myself and my ADHD and I function a lot better now. I’m different and I’m very aware of that but I try my absolute best to be as ‘normal’ as I can be for my children, it does get exhausting.

bettyrubble99 · 05/10/2026 21:44

I'm NT but not a full NT household.
Husband has ADHD.
DS1 & DS3 are NT
DS2 AUHD & DS4 on the autism pathway.

AgeingMillennial · 05/10/2026 21:44

I think most people think they are, including me. So we can’t be.

legalseagull · 05/10/2026 21:44

What’s the purpose of this? Most people reading will be interested because they’re ND. I hope you’re not jumping on the “look how over diagnosed it is!!!” Bandwagon

Waitingfordoggo · 05/10/2026 21:44

There is a fair bit of diagnosed neurodivergence in my family, both ASC and ADHD. I have been diagnosed with ADHD but haven’t been assessed for ASC. I do think I am likely autistic, mildly. I might get assessed at some point, out of curiosity really.

SeraphinaRainbird · 05/10/2026 21:46

I’m not diagnosed but I’m sure I am autistic.

TheEyesOfLucyJordon · 05/10/2026 21:46

Nope. I'm as neuro typical as they come 😊

GettingBTickets · 05/10/2026 21:46

No I am not.

VioletsTale · 05/10/2026 21:47

I suspect I have ADHD , but I also have a traumatic background. Could be either or a mix of both. Since I have a billion coping mechanisms in place which mean I’m fairly functional 90% of the time and I don’t actually have the “attention span”to seek a formal diagnosis , I guess we’ll never know.

Hoardasurass · 05/10/2026 21:48

Yes i am autistic why are you asking

TallSturdyGirls · 05/10/2026 21:50

Why? Then I might tell you either way. This is a crap poll as it is ridiculously self selecting.

dreamingofgoodhair · 05/10/2026 21:52

Yes diagnosed with both.

AllOldPeopleAreWizards · 05/10/2026 21:55

My husband is ASD and ADHD. Our DD is high functioning (going through diagnosis process, but it’s difficult as she masks a lot at school). I have CPTSD which can mirror some symptoms, but I’m having Dialectal Therapy at the moment and my therapist thinks I may be ND. The more I learn about myself the more I think I may be on the spectrum.

havingoneofthosedays · 05/10/2026 21:57

Probably the only person on here that isn’t…

SukiPook · 05/10/2026 21:59

Yes, diagnosed a few years ago before I hit 50 with inattentive ADHD. It explained a LOT. Also since found out i have hashimoto's thyroiditis. Menopause plus those things has been a shit show but it has helped my mental health and self acceptance to be diagnosed.

Vegetablespringrolls · 05/10/2026 21:59

I'm ND but not asd or adhd.

Pumpkindice · 05/10/2026 22:02

@fintangel do you have a mental illness? Do you have IBS? Do you have chronic fatigue syndrome?
Do you think it would be appropriate to post those questions without any context as an opener, and if not why do you think your current one is acceptable?

Freshrain · 05/10/2026 22:03

Why ?

I also agree the poll is going to be completely skewed due to the people opening it because of the title.

friedaklein · 05/10/2026 22:08

Several of us have said we aren't. But as pp said, more ND ppl will click.
