You’ve posted before and had good advice. This wasn’t a healthy relationship.

ShitFacedShakespeare · 05/10/2026 10:45

A complete break from Mumsnet I expect.

Still, at least it's keeping you amused I suppose.

TheGrimSqueakersFlea · 05/10/2026 10:47

Go back to your gp. Get in touch with your local mental health team.

You have a million threads about this and never take any advice. You need to stop wallowing in self pity and make an effort to change things. Start with your gp. Write a diary, keep yourself busy.

Counselling

Or engage with the support you're being offered here

AbsintheMakesTheHeartGrowFonder · 05/10/2026 11:03

You again?

This isn't helping you and it's not a normal way to react to a breakup. Being devastated is normal. Posting endlessly about it for months isn't. At this point, I don't think you actually want to feel better.

Nubblebubbletrubble · 05/10/2026 11:03

Again?? Come on OP, do you have a crisis team or similar you can speak to? This isn’t healthy.

mbosnz · 05/10/2026 11:04

Well, if you want to get over him, try something different from what you've been doing. If you don't, I guess, just keep on doing what you are doing, say goodbye to yet more of your life, and your mental and physical health. Your choice, really.

Nubblebubbletrubble · 05/10/2026 11:05

It’s not often I’d be on the side of the man etc but seriously I’m worried you may be stalking him or similar. You have to have to have to get some help IRL. This is obsessive now, he’s ended it OP, it’s over. Even if it’s painful you have to accept it.

PatNoodle · 05/10/2026 11:09

I just knew this was going to be you again before I even opened the thread and looked at the username

well then there are several really good and positive suggestions on this thread already, and hundreds more on your other threads. Why dont you actually choose one or two, and try them, instead of defaulting back to the misery and repetition on yet another thread? You have to help yourself. Youve had good advice and support, but nothing will change unless you do.

You must be absolutely insufferable irl at the moment OP come on- don’t you have children too? You cannot put them through all this it’s ridiculous.

nofacenonamenonumber · 05/10/2026 11:19

We have all been there. It is really hard. The only thing that helps is time.
Eventually you won't care about him.
Be kind to yourself 🥰

Yes but you're not, are you?

If you were, you would engage with your own threads more, with longer replies and actually discuss the advice you're constantly being given.

You'd tell MNetters what has worked, what hasn't worked and why etc.

But all you seem to do is start repeated threads with small, stunted replies and just ignore the rest.

It's not healthy, and I suspect MN is just one of many forums you're repeatedly posting on about this.

She got dumped around 2/3 months ago and repeatedly posts several times a day about it. Ignores all advice then repeats

I have tried antidepressants
I have gone to therapy
nothing seems to be working
I had. A hysterectomy 3 days ago. My son is with his father at the moment . While I recover

You will get over it. It's a cliche, but time heals everything.

Just focus one doing something for yourself.

TheOpalFox · 05/10/2026 11:29

It’s like I crave him, like why can’t he care :(

Therapy isn't an instant win to make you feel better. It takes time, and you will still need to make changes to your lifestyle.

You need to find ways to have more pleasure in your life, or to give meaning to your life. Spend time with friends, start a new hobby?

Ultimately, emotions are like a wave, they come and go. No matter how bad you feel (and it's horrible to feel really bad) the wave will eventually subside and you will not always feel like this.

Well keep taking them or go back to your GP and see if they can change your dose.

And obviously keep up the therapy.

Does 'tried' mean you're no longer doing either?
