AIBU to be annoyed DH convinced me not to go for drinks because he was tired, then went by himself?

DS is at his friend’s house. Both DH and I are friendly with the parents and were invited to drinks when we picked DS up. I was up for doing that.

DH and I got home from work separately, chatted and he said he was knackered after a long week at work so we agreed that just one of us would go, collect DS and come home for dinner and TV. He went and I started making dinner. It’s a 15 mins drive.

20 minutes later I received a message “Just having drinks and pizza here, you could come over on a Lime Bike if you fancy but guess you’re not that fussed ? Xx”

I am so pissed off. Now I look like the miserable antisocial one!

AIBU?

Tell him to come and get you if you want to go. I wouldn't be happy.

Minasama · 02/10/2026 20:07

DH is clearly impressionable. I’d be pretty annoyed as well but maybe his feelings changed when he was invited in and it was hard to say no. I’d get on the Lime bike and go, you’ll have fun.

Crunchymum · 02/10/2026 20:07

Could he have changed his mind / got a second wind when he got there?

Any reason you don't want to jump on a Lime bike and head over?

It's not like hes not invited you?

gamerchick · 02/10/2026 20:09

Id absolutely go me. Tell him you're on your way and to save you some pizza. He obviously put you off going in purpose.

gamerchick · 02/10/2026 20:10

Wtf is a lime bike?

Wtf is a lime bike?

Bikes you can pay to use.

dreamingofgoodhair · 02/10/2026 20:13

@HotCrossBunpleaseif you do go over don’t let him talk you into driving.

HotCrossBunplease · 02/10/2026 20:14

It was an hour ago. I had zero desire to cycle in Friday night London traffic. Not dressed for cycling. Totally different to going together in the car.

Edited

Many thanks. I didn't want to Google it I'd be flooded with adverts for days.

MrsKateColumbo · 02/10/2026 20:15

He can pay for an Uber!

MummyJ36 · 02/10/2026 20:17

yanbu!! Please give him a piece of your mind OP because that’s an absolute joke!

Theimpossiblegirl · 02/10/2026 20:20

Sorry I skewed the vote by clicking on the wrong one. You are not being unreasonable.

PatchNotes · 02/10/2026 20:24

I’d be annoyed too that is out of order and I wouldn’t fancy the bike either. FYI you mean unsocial, not antisocial. Antisocial is being disruptive in society whereas unsocial is preferring being alone.

Endoadnowarrior · 02/10/2026 20:28

Get a bus or uber then!!

Leeds2 · 02/10/2026 20:29

I would have got a taxi/uber.

Genevieva · 02/10/2026 20:29

Get a taxi

MrsTerryPratchett · 02/10/2026 20:31

It's the 'guess you're not that fussed' that would piss me off. I wouldn't have minded an opps text. But his text is twattish.

pinkishtongue · 02/10/2026 20:31

That’s such shitty behaviour from him. I’d also be furious.

Stompythedinosaur · 02/10/2026 20:31

Honestly, that's bloody outrageous. I'd be furious!

If he's staying, he needs to come back and get you!

Kerning · 02/10/2026 20:31

Is there a reason he wouldn't have wanted to you to go?

nam3c4ang3 · 02/10/2026 20:31

What a fucking twat. He didn’t want you to go. Sorry OP I wouldn’t be able to forgive this!

Cotsworlds · 02/10/2026 20:33

I’d be furious.

Shloopie · 02/10/2026 20:35

I'd be pissed off, but I don't think it's in the category of 'unforgiveable things'

You know him. Is it more likely he wanted to go for drinks all along but didn't want you there, or did he have his arm twisted when he got there?

Laiste · 02/10/2026 20:39

He drove? And is driving back? Drinking?

beta2 · 02/10/2026 20:40

How is he getting himself and your son home if hes having drinks
