My niece was at the formula one in Italy this weekend.

404,000 people attended, most of whom didn’t seem to be Italian from her words. She told me she bought “at least” ten bottles of water this weekend. 11 teams flying in, flying their drivers in by private jet, and then out again. 404,000 people making extra journeys that they didn’t need to make.

The impact on the environment must be awful. AIBU to think these events should be banned for the sake of the environment?

It was far far hotter, when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. The heat then wasn't man made.

I accept glibal warming but I am not persuaded man has or is causing it.

If you watched even a 5-minute basics of climate change video it would explain why man made climate changes is unequivocally a thing.

Absolutely no need to buy water. There is water refill available at Monza and other F1 tracks I have been to.
The environmental impact of the teams is undeniable but people travelling happens for all big sporting events. Do we cancel football and rugby tournaments, tennis competitions, the Olympics?

No all sporting events should not be cancelled.

Zandvoort go even further and ban all motor vehicles in the entire town for the whole weekend.

They really don't we were there in August. Drove there and back. We used bikes while we were there but there were plenty of cars driving all weekend.

The Covid marshals are bored.
Live like 2020. Do nothing, lest you kill granny, because nothing matters apart from saving lives at all costs.
Bring back Oliver Cromwell.

”The F1 cars run on electricity.” Where does that electricity come from, again?

I didn’t say that’s all they ate. They do eat fruit and veg and a lot of it will be out of season. It is so hypocritical. No way everything they eat is from this country. All my meat is.

Don't you eat fruit or veg then other than the seasonal UK stuff?
