AIBU to think moustaches rarely improve a man's appearance?

There is no man on earth who’s looks are improved by the addition of facial hair.

Can someone please tell the young lads with the 1970s ‘taches that they look bloody awful?

Funnily enough as soon as I posted it I looked up to watch my teams match and a bloke in the crowd with his big Santa tache and beard, fuck no. Tickle my pickle was a phrase I once heard, makes me wanna boak. Nah I would NOT like that thanks.

Moustache with a beard is a yes (sometimes), just a moustache is never okay and should be a criminal offence.

I'm a bloke in in my 50s and I love my grey beard. I think it suits me and I couldn't care less if some people think it makes me look older. Even if it does, why is that automatically a bad thing that I should go to any lengths to avoid? Is aging really so terrible?

I love a short beard and/or hairy chest.

But as my mum used to say, “never go out with a man who thinks his nose is so important that he has to underline it”.

My husband has had some kind of facial hair the whole time I’ve known him. Early on he warned me that a clean shaven face makes him look like a lesbian. I’ve seen photos and he is not wrong.

I'd say that's a bit of a leap.

I'd assume that in much the way that women dye their hair or get piercings or tattoos (which are the things people seem to have issues with), that many men have facial hair because they like it. Not to 'pull' or to make themselves more attractive to the opposite sex, but something they do because they want to and can.

For me, the solo moustache doesn't appeal. But with heavy stubble or a beard it can. Ultimately it depends on who it's on though.

Is aging really so terrible?

According to the pressure placed on women in our society to stay youthful it is, yes.

Men dont get nearly the same pressure as women do

All the more reason to push back on that pressure then.

I normally take a strong anti-facial hair stance but I went to see the new De Gualle films and was persuaded by some of the moustaches. Nils Schneider as Leclerc😍
