To be annoyed by this neighbour

New neighbour moved into a social housing bungalow behind our house a few months ago. He has been a bit of a nightmare to be honest. He doesn't make excessive noise as such but he is definitely impacting us and our immediate neighbours. Some examples are, letting his dog out for a wee at 6am every morning. It then barks when in the garden. It only barks 2 or 3 times and he ushers it back in the house but it is very loud, waking us up each time. He also has excessively loud phone conversations on speakerphone throughout the day. I mean really loud. I was in my bedroom the other night with the window closed and I could hear everything the person on the end of the line was saying it was that loud. It makes sitting in our garden a bit of a nightmare now to be honest. This happens at least 5 or 6 times throughout the day up until about 10pm. He has a loud car which he loves to rev up constantly and the exhaust has been modified to make it even louder. Is this just normal behaviour these days or do I contact the social housing provider? I will not speak to him direct as I've been warned he's quite aggressive.

Issue here is op why is it relevant he’s in social housing, why did you feel you had to tell people that, becaude for the life of me I can’t see how thay changes things, other than if you want to complain to the ha to cause him issues.

this is just normal neighbour noise, it’s fine, and I don’t beleive for one moment he’s got someone unique phone that’s so loud you can hear it streets away

My god some of the comments on here have been appalling. The OP was simply asking a question and she even accepted that she may need to adjust her expectations when comments said she might just need to get used to it. I absolutely DO want to know if they own, social housing or private as it is relevant if the OP wants to make a complaint or get advice and it is part of the overall picture. There are some wonderful people on here who give heartfelt advice, whether they agree with the OP's or not and then unfortunately, theres the others....

forgot to add...dogs barking at 6am and revving cars are NOT normal noises and should not be acceptable to those living close to those who make these kinds of noises. I dont exactly live in a great area but I would be fuming if someone was letting their dog bark at 6am every morning and would consider them to be ignorant selfish gits!

The issue with social housing is that there are terms in the tenancy agreement about not behaving anti socially.

As a result there is an expectation that landlords will take action which doesnt happen of you are an owner occupier or private tenant.

Imagine being a new person who’s so inconsiderate as to already be disturbing his neighbours.

The dog is said to go out for a wee at 6am, then is said to bark two or three barks and is then hustled inside by its owner. That sounds fine and pretty considerate to me 🙄

If he was deaf he would be highly likely to use earpods, not a speakerphone.

But that's the way most live like now
Cheek by jowl with people that if things had been different you'd have avoided like the plague
But I'm wondering
Is he deaf/hard of hearing
May explain the loud bolshie attitude
