Why, why why do people do this ?
hotels with kids pools and adult only pools -
and the fuckers put their babies / toddlers / kids in the adult pool …

Maybe they are not aware? Tell the hotel staff if you want the kids gone.

Ablondiebutagoody · 17/08/2026 13:37

They've got to have a wee somewhere 🤷🏻‍♂️

Love this! 🤣🤣🤣

I don't think I've ever really noticed this happening OP but if you have, just speak to staff.

Staff aware -
no action taken
…. waiting for the noisy little assholes to set off a code brown

Are you sure they are adult only pools though? I've seen separate kids pools but I've never seen an adult only pool. Either way you just tell the staff surely.

WaneyEdge · 17/08/2026 13:46

Because some people are entitled and think the rules don’t apply to them and their kids are so amazing that everyone should want to be entertained by them.

My SIL was like this with her teen DGS. “Ridiculous” according to her that they had to sit in the ‘family dining’ area in a pub/restaurant as they were under 18. “Look how tall they are!” was her reasoning 🙄.

No one enforces anything either. I’ve been in pubs and seen kids playing fruit machines with parents. I’ve also been at service stations and seen the same.

Two2TooAlsoToToward · 17/08/2026 13:50

I’m not too worried about a silent 16-17yo who is just sitting on the loungers reading, with their ear buds in, or on their phone. But little ones running around is very uncool. Also uncool that the staff are doing nothing?

MimiSunshine · 17/08/2026 13:50

I’ve been in two places like with adult pools. One was vigorously enforced by staff much to my delight.

one less so but as I also had children my ability to spend time there was limited.
in the 2nd one, a group of adults which I took to be parents, grandparents and aunt / uncle.
they justified it as their little darling (around 6) was quiet and the main pools were busy and noisy.
yes with families you fuckwits. They were told they could only stay another 10 mins and the signs were clear.

Start talking about sex or use bad language
They will soon move

GaaNeen · 17/08/2026 13:53

The hotel proudly boasts on its online details blah blah blah …. Two family pools and an adult pool for relaxing ….

relaxing next to dive bomb Charlie and screaming Evie and baby Peter in his very heavy looking nappy …. My arse …

What did they say when you reported it? Have you escalated to a manager, and pointed out that it says that this is a child-free, relaxing, adult-only area online?

I’ve told the staff - they say the families are probably there to relax !
I’ve given Paddington bear hard stares To the offending dick heads
when I got knocked on head by a noodle I said to the parent - this is an adult pool -
blank / empty stare in response - no intelligent life could be detected
the dad looks like Vinnie Jones -
I think I’ll accept defeat

This. Tell the hotel manager that you want a refund, as there is no adult only pool (as advertised).

Jasmin71 · 17/08/2026 14:16

Ask for a refund and head office telephone number. Give them a short time frame to sort it out. Say to them that unless they do sort it out you will be having a cigarette after dinner tonight in thr restaurant.

Seen some recently. To be fair, think it's fairly new, as in the past people were more likely to keep their kids from bothering people.
Like I don't remember kids sections in many restaurants a couple of decades ago? Because generally people aren't bothered by kids in principle, it's to do with behaviour.

skyeisthelimit · 17/08/2026 14:28

YANUB. If it is advertised as an adult only pool, then keep reporting to management and pointing out their own advert to them.

Last time I went abroad there was an adult only pool and the staff ensured that it stayed that way and there were signs everywhere

Moonnstarz · 17/08/2026 14:32

You need to speak to a manager. Maybe the staff at the pool are worried about confrontation. Not sure what it's like abroad, but certainly in this country I feel that people on the lowest wage are often expected to deal with the most grief and therefore are more reluctant.

MatildaTheCat · 17/08/2026 14:33

Report it up the line and insist on speaking to a manager. The poolside staff are usually young and on very low pay and simply don’t want to get into confrontational situations with that type of guest.

Keep on reporting it and stress that it was advertised as adult only and that’s why you booked it.
