Yes, especially when the thread is about someone who has just died and other posters are upset or sharing fond memories.

It’s so interesting to see what drives different people mad! A lot of these don’t bother me, but I agree with the ‘and what did the doctor say when you went to A&E?’ style answers, sooo passive-aggressive.

Which brings me to my pet peeve! The shortening of so many phrases eg pass-agg, MaccieD’s (I don’t think I’ve that right have I? I’m in Ireland & it doesn’t tend to be used here!), OccyH (I think I’ve misremembered that one too, but I know there’s some abbreviation that sets my teeth on edge!)

Actually that reminds me of how much I hate the ‘parking’ threads. I don’t tend to read them but I can never understand the joy they seem to bring & the absolute insanity that comes out in the posts; I am always left thinking - would people actually do any of this in real life?

I actually think weirdly that’s why I don’t like them? I appreciate that about CF’ers but I don’t like that kind of retribution (eg leaving them blocked in etc) even tho I realise it’s deserved!

a hard stare is a Look.

Paddington Bear had a particular Look that he would use, possibly on Mr Brown, possibly on Mr Curry, possibly on random policemen... anyway the Hard Stare became a bit of a quoty thing in a certain generation
