Just to walk around, take in some nice sights and eat/drink.

I really enjoy Antwerp and Dinant. I find Belgians really friendly and easy to talk to.

Berlin and Budapest

mrsneville · 23/07/2026 11:02

Berlin, Valencia.

Also have a soft spot for Paris even though it's quite seedy.

SomersetBrie · 23/07/2026 11:03

Venice. No work required to see its beauty.

Its controversial but...I love Marseille

Bratislava and Rome.

Lived in Rome for 4 years and the countryside around it, and small towns, are beautiful.

Bratislava because it's really safe, lots of little coffee shops and beautiful parks. Dog friendly as well - always a bonus in my book. Super cheap as well and not (yet) ruined by tourists the way Paris/Rome (now) and other big cities have been.

squashyhat · 23/07/2026 11:08

Naples. I know it's a marmite place but I love it all - the views, the people, the graffiti, the chaos and especially the pizza Smile

ThatSunnyCrow · 23/07/2026 11:09

Rome, Venice, Nice (great base to explore the Riveria via train).

Tuncro · 23/07/2026 11:09

San Sebastián and Venice London .
Despite living so close to London I have only properly explored the city recently. Has a fantastic vibe .

letsdoitforaweek · 23/07/2026 11:14

Not an original choice, but it's Rome for me. Absolutely staggering place. I could spend weeks there every year.

Also love many others, Vienna stands out for its beautiful buildings.

JustOneMoreMargarita · 23/07/2026 11:14

Lisbon and Berlin. Very different but I loved them both

BettyJoanPerske · 23/07/2026 11:16

Malmö

Yes! Clean, efficient, accessible, some fabulous architecture. It helps that my best friend also lives there but it is an amazing city, and close enough to Copenhagen for a day trip.

Pedant61 · 23/07/2026 11:17

Rome. Been 9 or 10 times, and can't wait to go back.

whirlyhead · 23/07/2026 11:17

Venice, Berlin and London. if I were young I'd move to Berlin and get into the tech scene there. It's a very buzzy city.

I lived in London for years and I love it to visit (not so much to live in!!) There's so much to see and do.

Venice is just unique and magical though there are a few too many tourists nowadays.
