Never in 35 years of marriage - not a perfect relationship but never that!

BecauseofyouIlearntnottotrust · 21/07/2026 21:40

Never

Funchythesnowwoman · 21/07/2026 21:40

No.

RisingSunn · 21/07/2026 21:41

Never.

Funchythesnowwoman · 21/07/2026 21:41

But many women on MN have been judging by multiple posts on here

Victorius19 · 21/07/2026 21:42

Never. And he'd never get the chance to call it me again if he did.

It's the most offensive word in the English language.

Ladygreytealoverhere · 21/07/2026 21:44

Never by either of 2 husbands !

IrradiatedHaggis · 21/07/2026 21:44

only ever been called that by my abusive ex.
If my DH called me that, he'd be an ex as well.

darkandgloomy · 21/07/2026 21:45

Not by my partner, but frequently the ex. That's why he's an ex......

Luddite26 · 21/07/2026 21:45

It's use is on the rise.

PurpleCoo · 21/07/2026 21:47

Never. I can't recall that we have ever sworn at each other, or called each other an offensive or derogatory name. I don't believe we have ever shouted at each other.

We are adults, we treat each other with respect and discuss our concerns and differences of opinions calmly.

Barney16 · 21/07/2026 21:47

Nope. 2x husbands 🙂

TheFluffiestCat · 21/07/2026 21:47

Yes. He felt guilty because the baby had fallen down some steps when he was meant to be watching her and I was in another room. She was fine, thank goodness. I told him if he ever called me that again, he’d be out. He never did but it eroded a bit more of the relationship and now we’re getting divorced.

SallyAnnDrivesACar · 21/07/2026 21:48

I kinda like the word cunt but I know some people find it hideous. Anyway, no I've never been called it in a relationship.

TheDogsMother · 21/07/2026 21:49

Never in any relationship. Never in first marriage or second.

OwlCalledSage · 21/07/2026 21:49

Never. (I’m not remotely offended by the word cunt, but) my husband has never called me names, raised his voice nor sworn at me. And vice versa.

Missymarple · 21/07/2026 21:51

I have never been called a cunt, not by DH nor in any relationship prior.

Ooofbananas · 21/07/2026 21:52

Never.

I’d suspect he had a brain tumor if he did, it would be so out of character.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 21/07/2026 21:52

We don’t do the name calling, loud row thing.
However, some people seem to have a tolerance for very casual crudity, namely calling and swearing. That only works if you’re both matched. I wouldn’t tolerate it in a relationship. We’re supposed to be good to people we love.

likeitshard · 21/07/2026 21:53

No occasionally dh starts to use f word in an argument if he is getting frustrated (because he’s losing) he gets told in no uncertain terms not to swear at me.

MissAmbrosia · 21/07/2026 21:53

No - and I would probably have left if he ever said such a thing. Worst thing my dh has called me during an argument is my full name (normally go by short version)

RappelChoan · 21/07/2026 21:54

My adult son tells me it’s seen as a lot milder these days and only millennials are offended by it 😂

MummySleepDeprived · 21/07/2026 21:54

Not if he values a roof over his head! It's my flat and I'd put him out so fast if he spoke to me like that!

Same for me. The respect is really important to both of us and I am not sure either of us would be able to brush it off if the other hurled abuse and insults.

donkey86 · 21/07/2026 21:55

No, never. I did call DH that once though, when we hadn’t been dating too long and he started tickling my feet and wouldn’t stop. I don’t usually swear at all and so I think I shocked myself more than him!
