Alcohol free wine

Is there any nice tasting alcohol free wine? Every red I have tasted is like vinegar and white isn't much better but at least I can add lemonade.
I'm 3 weeks into a years abstinence and I miss the social aspect of it, the alcohol free lager is ok.
Shall I just give up with the wine or have any of you found the holy grail.
Oh and my aibu is am I bu to moan about this.

If you want something slightly different, the Capt Morgan Spiced Rum 0% is very good

Guinness Zero is great too

Never had a decent 0% wine, they just don't taste right nor have the same mouthfeel

Nosecco is horrible. You need to look at the sugar content on the label. The lowest sparkling I've seen is Noughty which is not bad. Freixenet is ok too.

Generally the still ones are horrible but I have had M&S Divin Sauvignon Blanc and it was fine. Sticks in my craw that it costs 12 quid though.

Kylie sparkling rose is the only wine I have found that is really drinkable.

Freixinet is ok if really cold, as are the little cans of Most Wanted Sauv Blanc which are a bit spritzy. But eventually you realise they're not like the real thing.

I never drank cider before but have found Thatchers Zero is pretty good and is widely available. Recently I had Hydes Lyte zero cider on tap and it was delicious, must see if you can buy it in shops.

Iced tea with all the Pims trimmings is a nice summer drink.

DS has to be careful re alcohol after recent surgery and he likes 0 Guiness, Peroni and Moretti. Erdinger 0 is not ok, he says.

Mocktails also fulfil a summer vibe.

I've tried no alcohol gins and Prosecco and I'm not keen. I'd rather just have a premium soft drink.

Not tried any alcohol free red wine. It does exist, but does not seem widely available

Friday night is drinks night. So I'm going to hunt down the Kylie rosé this week, I'm also out Saturday too a BBQ so will try the frexinet then.
I will be an expert by the end of my year.

If you find a decent alcohol free wine, please share. Apart from some of the sparkling ones every single one I've tried has been awful

Nosecco!

The Freixnet cava is really nice, better than nosecco. Otherwise I stick to AF beers and gin

M&S Rose, Fruity and Bright is nice, as is the Geisen Sav' Blanc.

I was given a glass of Nosecco and had to tip it away. It sickly sweet and horrible. If you like gin then the AF Tanqueray is pretty good.

Not what you asked, but since you mentioned adding lemonade to white wine... You can add Coca Cola to any disgusting red wine and make a drink called Kalimotxo - it's well-known in Spain and honestly much nicer than it sounds! You can also add lemon Fanta to any red wine and make a drink called Tinto de Verano (summer red wine), which is very popular in Spain and absolutely delicious with lots of ice and a slice of lemon

I’ve never had a good AF wine. Whoever makes one first will make a fortune.
AF beers are better and for a gin I really like the Tanqueray.

I drink AF white with a splash of soda and ice. It dries out the wine and makes quite a refreshing spritzer.

Yes! This is quite nice. Has a nice light peppery taste.

I don’t mind the Oddbird white and sparkling wines.

I add a dash of bitters to Nosecco to dry it out a bit. I find it gives me a headache if I have more than a couple of glasses.

Noughty is good, but a bit expensive.

I like a sparkling tea called Copenhagen but I have not seen it in the shops (can be bought online, and my favourite restaurant serves it by the glass) and it is even more expensive.

This was the bloody awful red, hubby does not like waste so I told him to drink it then, he didn't politely decline he was rather impolite, anyway he suggested making it into a sangria so I have ....... Well I couldn't be arsed with the fruit so I just did 1/3 of the disgusting red and 2/3 lemonade and it's now quite drinkable, when DH decides to top me up I will remind him not to forget the fruit 🍓

The Thomson & Scott ones are less foul than all the others I've tried, but not quite nice enough to justify the hefty price tag imo.

Agree that the Kylie pink sparkling is OK.

Not wine, but LA Brewery's Blush Kombucha is a nice fizz alternative.

This one has strawberries in, DH is a keeper

I haven’t found a decent AF wine but enjoy AF lagers even though I wouldn’t normally drink lager!
Martini Vibrante is good (like AF Rosso) mix with tonic water and a wedge of lime or lemon.
When I first reduced alcohol intake I would have an AF G&T or AF wine or nosecco followed by an alcohol G&T which really helped me get the units down without feeling hard done by but now I’m used to less I don’t bother with the AF version apart from the odd AF lager in the pub. Far too expensive and I would rather have a ginger beer (or Belvoir ginger cordial and sparkling water at home).

Have you considered going to less alcohol rather than alcohol free ?

There are lower alcohol content wines available, and you can also do a spritzer and increase the lemonade/water content over time.

I moved from 5% beer to 3.5% and don't really miss the extra now. It's a bit like moving from full fat to semi skimmed milk, at first it tastes a bit worse but you get used to it. Moving from semi skimmed to fully skimmed is much more of a leap.

Lager tends to have quite a clean taste so if you move to lower alcohol you can really taste it, but beer there are lots of small beers available that go down even to 2.5% but have a very good taste. By drinking those instead of 5% beers you are halving your alcohol content.

I don't really know so much about wine, but I am sure there are lower alcohol wines out there.

Tried the Kylie rosé tonight as suggested and it was really nice so far it's the best wine and I don't normally do rosé, I still have the frexinet in the fridge to try.

Yes! What you want is DEALCOHOLISED WINE (wine with alcohol content removed) rather than alcohol free wine (usually sugary vinegar imitations).

I don’t drink red I’m afraid.

If you want something a bit weird that hits a certain spot I find the Humantra Himalayan Lime electrolyte powders make super icy water mixed with limes into an almost margarita-y drink. It’s electrolytes so the salts remove the sweetness and amplify the sour … and it’s good for you.
