To leave DH family WhatsApp group?

To leave DH’s family WhatsApp group?

Just to reduce my own admin / phone admin which is getting too much.

No specific drama or anything.

I would explain they can go via DH re future family arrangements, (and obviously contact me directly should they still wish to speak to me specifically)

DH is not on my family WhatsApp and I’m getting fed up with being the “organiser” for stuff with his side of the family. I’ve only tolerated it this long for DC benefit of seeing cousins.

I’ve muted and locked my DH’s family one

@WildLeader you didn't say they were "arranging stuff" you didn't need to be involved in, you said she sent you a nice message to congratulate you on their wedding, your husband started to chat to her and make conversation including you, and you left.
I'm sure (& hope) that it's not as rude as it sounded.

the conversation was no longer to do with me, I had already chatted re the message some days before. DH started a new conversation in that chat that was a continuation of previous chats they were having. So I left the conversation to leave them to it.

My ils never had my mobile number.

This is beyond bizarre. I have a DIL and two SIL, all of whom I love dearly, and am in regular contact with all of them. Mumsnet really is a parallel universe sometimes.

"his dd sent us both a message to congratulate on our recent low key wedding and I said thanks very much etc etc, but when H then started to make conversation on it and include me, I left."

You can see why I was confused. But I'm sure that your OHs DD, who was kind enough to text you good wishes after not being invited to her own dad's wedding, doesn't mind that you left a chat because it moved onto a conversation which wasn't about you

Nobody was invited, and anyway, she’s off travelling for a few months.

we are old, it’s administrative mostly, just us and witnesses on a weekday afternoon

Presumably they’re genuinely nice people though? Not all family members and inlaws are unfortunately.
