Bathroom request at bedtime

thecrazyone111 · 11/07/2026 22:26

My partner goes to the toilet at night just before our daughter goes to brush her teeth. My daughter says there’s a smell in the loo so she wants a few minutes before going to brush her teeth. I’ve request my partner to use the second loo which is literally 5 meters away so our daughters bedtime routine will go smoother. My partner says this request is excessive. Who is being unreasonable?

I keep tooth brushes in the kitchen by sink. Never understood keeping them in the loo

how old are you? 😂

Probably the same age as me.
Not sure why that’s funny or relevant.
If there’s one loo, then let the child brush their teeth first.

Your partner is being a dick.

Tamtim · Yesterday 00:22

That’s a perfectly reasonable request. It’s just good manners.

I think your DD needs to be less of a princess and just get on with it.

Omg

Slottiethesluttie · Yesterday 00:40

”ugh, I am man. And I have the right to do a foul shit where my child brushes their teeth.’

DDivaStar · Yesterday 00:42

Is there a sink I the other toilet? she uses that or kitchen sink.

Its grim but not everyone can toilet in accordance with other people's plan.

Why though when he can just use the other loo??

DaisyDooley · Yesterday 01:15

Grim.
That would give me the major ick.
I don’t think I could ever fancy him again.

Really. Really?

supersop60 · Yesterday 11:17

And does she do stinky wees or poos? And why doesnt she use the other loo?

NickSaidSheWasDull · Yesterday 11:23

How nauseating. Use the other loo! Fgs. Ew.

TheSandgroper · Yesterday 11:36

It gives me dominance vibes. Not good for your wife to be dominating her daughter so unpleasantly.

Plenty of houses and flats still only have one toilet. How old are you not to have found that out yet?

But is she the mother of your child? You keep saying ‘my child’ like she is not the mother. Either way, it’s pretty strange behaviour, especially if it’s every night.

Makes no odds whether it is a male of female, surely your daughters bedtime is the same time every night, so why can't your partner just ask her if she needs to brush her teeth before she stinks the bathroom out, there's no reason for her to use a different toilet, just let the non stinky people in there first.

It's common courtesy to do that anyway, what kind of Neanderthal are you living with??

BillieWiper · Yesterday 12:14

The BM-er puts bleach down the bowl and sprays air freshener after flushing with lid shut. And opens the window. The second bathroom user then goes in.

How do you think people with multiple family and one bathroom survive?

topcat2014 · Yesterday 12:15

He's not the father is he? Or a useless one at that.

topcat2014 · Yesterday 12:16

I'll switch genders - same comment

I was replying to a post about the "bog house", but feel free to comment without looking at the whole conversation 😂
