Bathroom request at bedtime

My partner goes to the toilet at night just before our daughter goes to brush her teeth. My daughter says there’s a smell in the loo so she wants a few minutes before going to brush her teeth. I’ve request my partner to use the second loo which is literally 5 meters away so our daughters bedtime routine will go smoother. My partner says this request is excessive. Who is being unreasonable?

1920s/1930s houses with the upstairs loo separate from the bathroom had the right idea. I can't understand why so may people have them combined into one room.

Why when that's the bathroom with her things in it? Why can't the adult just 'use' the other bathroom without the child's things init?

I was just thinking about those earlier this morning! I lived in a house with this setup- as a child, it's quite useful really to have the main bathroom and the bog separate but you never seem to see it in modern builds.

Is there a reason why your partner doesn’t want to use the other toilet op?

Also wow I can’t imagine having such regularly timed bowel movements (assuming it’s bowel).

Personally I would find it gross like your dd, if your partner won’t compromise then could dd use the other bathroom to brush teeth in? If it means going back downstairs to do so then I can see it’s a bit of a faff, especially if she’s young and gets distracted from her bedtime routine, starts asking for drinks etc, in which case life would definitely be easier if your partner would just use the other toilet herself!
