To ask if starting HRT ruined anything for you?

For example, did it reduce your ability to enjoy wine or coffee?

I am about to start (so excited for many reasons) but a couple of people have suddenly given me the fear. If it's no coffee I am just going to ride things out the medieval way (except with coffee).

Two weeks of PMT sounds like hell! So once you were on the Mirena, the weight gain stopped being an issue? x

Yes.

It was night and day for me. Oh I might have had one month of sore breasts and tiredness and then boom. My libido increased, I had more energy and I was happier.

Micronised progesterone is poison to me!

Late to this thread, but no, HRT was immensely helpful. No hot flushes, better sleep, more consistent mood, fewer headaches, less irritable and my skin is much better. Did have an issue wth break through bleeding but this was because I initially took oral progesterone and was on Mounjaro, which blocks absorption. Now have the coil and all resolved. I didn’t take testosterone, just progesterone and oestrogen, as I had some hair thinning from a brief period of hyperthyroidism and was wary of the possible side effect of hair thinning from T.

Anyone I know who did not get on with it initially, found it was the method - plaster, prays, oral. It can take a little bit of tweaking to get it right.
