To ask where you hang your wet bathroom
towels after use?

Our bathroom is tiny, so they end up on the bannisters. The house is ‘cosy’ size.. so it looks like a laundry 90% of the time.

After one use ... Seriously?

Growing up, yes, after one use - but in the laundry basket, not in the washing machine, so colours could be sorted properly.

When I moved out of home I thought all my friends were very skanky reusing towels but I do it now too, get 2 or 3 uses. I have a rack in the bathroom.

on the towel rail in this house. Over the top of the shower door (bath) & over the radiator (hand) in our old house

HappyMuma · 01/07/2026 23:00

We have hooks on the back of the bathroom doors for shower towels and the hand towels go on the radiators.

rainbowsparkle28 · 01/07/2026 23:06

Towel rail in bathroom (but only me!) Otherwise I would say maybe back of door hooks bedroom or bannister. But make sure they are properly able to air out to dry otherwise they’ll just be wet and musty.

DancingFerret · 01/07/2026 23:28

Heated towel rail.

Devilsmommy · 01/07/2026 23:43

My bathroom is tiny so I put 3 hooks on the bathroom door and They just get hung there, though when the heating is on I put them on the towel ring that's above the little radiator in the bathroom

Biffsboys · 02/07/2026 00:15

Straight into the washing basket .

Whiski · 02/07/2026 00:16

Over the radiator in the bathroom

got a stick on hook for the back of the bathroom door from Ikea. It’s very strong and think it cost 50p.

That’s what we do. We all keep our towels in our rooms

deardumpling · 02/07/2026 05:52

Airing cupboard - have put hooks on the door. Out of sight and dry quickly.

Orangebloon · 02/07/2026 05:56

I’m surprised only a couple of people on here wash after every use. Every time I read these threads it feels like so many people wash a towel after drying each leg or one hand dry after using the loo! To go along with the washing bedding 3-4 times a week for the whole family!

Heated towel rail. Doubles as heating. Wouldn’t be without it.

Same and agree. I would definitely recommend a heated towel rail if possible.

KingOfPoundbury · 02/07/2026 06:12

One believe the servants take them to be washed and provides new dry towels throughout the day.

One would have thought this is the simplest solution and ponders why everyone would not do this.

susiedaisy1912 · 02/07/2026 06:13

Just inside my bedroom door above a radiator and my adult son and gf have theirs hung up on a door on the landing. My bathroom isn’t big enough to have 3 bath sheets and hand towels hung up in them.

Olive42 · 02/07/2026 06:20

Heated towel rail.

Before that in our previous home, on over door hooks on back of bathroom door.

When I did a languages exchange in Madrid, their system was they hung the towels from the tops of door frames on each of their bedroom doors each morning before leaving for work:/school. This was 30 years ago but I remember it as it was so coordinated - all four family members did this. I am not sure how they attached but they had a system! Very warm there so they would dry really quickly, I suppose. This memory has stayed with me!

Natsku · 02/07/2026 06:23

I hang mine on the baby gate at the top of the stairs. My 'baby' is 8 years old now but the gate stays (open) as its perfect for that job!

Fluffybuns88 · 02/07/2026 06:26

I have an over door hanger for the bathroom, my husband likes to fold up the wet towels and hang them on the bannister that often results in me standing at the top of the stairs shouting "husband! What happenes if we fold up wet towels?" "That's right they grow mould!"

ToffeeCrabApple · 02/07/2026 06:31

Heated towel rails and hooks on the backs of bathroom & bedroom doors.

Seaitoverthere · 02/07/2026 06:34

We have hooks on back of door but and a rail on upright radiator but mine and DH’s towels are large and quite thick so don’t dry properly unless spread out flat so go over the banister.

Fiddlesticks1 · 02/07/2026 06:43

Heated towel rail and for the bath mat the lovely chrome hand rail, it fits on just right and love it.

Mumofyellows · 02/07/2026 06:46

Hang it on a hook on the back of my bedroom door, the window is mostly always open in there so it dries off quickly.

PurpleCoo · 02/07/2026 06:51

I have a small bathroom as well, but I just put towels on the heated towel rail/radiator

EmailEve · 02/07/2026 06:51

Recommend buying microfibre towels as they dry much quicker so you can move away from the endless towels hanging around thing...

violetcuriosity · 02/07/2026 07:26

Bannisters or back of bathroom door on over the door hooks from ikea, we never seem to have an issue with damp towels but we do keep our window open all year round

TappyGilmore · 02/07/2026 07:29

Heated towel rail. Very, very small house but new build so heated towel rails are standard.
