To ask where you hang your wet bathroom
towels after use?

Our bathroom is tiny, so they end up on the bannisters. The house is ‘cosy’ size.. so it looks like a laundry 90% of the time.

My house is also definitely on the “cosy” side and if they’re not too damp I also put ours on the bannister or else on clothes airers.

SowWhatNow · 01/07/2026 22:18

On a hook next to the shower. Another cosy house here too.

Whoops75 · 01/07/2026 22:19

Got ours in ikea they have a hook to hang from door handles.

Bluebuddha10 · 01/07/2026 22:20

Our bathroom is tiny - just room for a hand towel. We ended up putting hooks on the back of the bedroom doors- so each person has their own towel hanging there

Pansykavalier · 01/07/2026 22:21

Heated towel rail. Doubles as heating. Wouldn’t be without it.

hellospring26 · 01/07/2026 22:21

Floor to ceiling radiator / towel rail. Very narrow but it copes . Need to be on top of the condensation though.

Julcandoit · 01/07/2026 22:21

Heated hand rails or bannister! Sometimes out on washing line.

NoSausage · 01/07/2026 22:22

Towel rail. Before that, radiator.

When neither are available, shower door, tub or door.

VIII · 01/07/2026 22:23

The heated towel rail or in summer just over the top of the shower screen (attached to the bath) they take no time at all to dry.

FWC2026 · 01/07/2026 22:29

Heated towel rail.

my place is cosy sized too. When I redid the bathroom I couldn't have the walk in shower I wanted (concrete floor, not enough 'drop off' to the soil pipe) so I had to have a shower over the bath. I put in a very wide bath (to maximise 'Elbow room' for the shower) & on the wall at the othered the bath I have a tall & &wide heated towel rail.

in previous houses

  • free standing towel rail on the landing
  • over the banister
  • over the bedroom door
  • hooks in the airing cupboard
ThisMauveTurtle · 01/07/2026 22:32

Over door hangers on bathroom door.

Loubissou · 01/07/2026 22:33

Towel rails in bathroom. The heated partis turned off at this time of year.

mumandmumber · 01/07/2026 22:33

Glad to hear that we are not alone in our home embellished with towels…
Having them somewhere to dry out of sight in the dream. It drives me nuts..!

Bannister! Heated towel rail never gets a look in

WoollyandSarah · 01/07/2026 22:38

We have one heated towel rail and 4 of us, so only DH uses the towel rail, DD2 and I use the bannister and DD1 probably the floor in her room, but I don't get involved.

19lottie82 · 01/07/2026 22:41

got a stick on hook for the back of the bathroom door from Ikea. It’s very strong and think it cost 50p.

Yetone · 01/07/2026 22:41

Heated towel rail. We fold the towels lengthwise in 4. How. many towels do you have? Surely only a bath towel/sheet per person and a hand towel for the bathroom.

Thehop · 01/07/2026 22:42

We don't have a bannister so over door hooks on bedroom doors

SooPanda · 01/07/2026 22:43

Hooks on the back of the door, near a window (for drying in summer) and a radiator (for drying in winter)

I can’t stand towels on the bannister not sure why but i just find it grim.

Straight in the washing machine.

After one use ... Seriously?

Yes.

Yes.

You must be washing towels constantly.

TeaAndMadeiraCake · 01/07/2026 22:55

Mine also go straight to the laundry after one use. If I kept them I'd get one of those multi hanging racks, or hooks over the door.
