British but live abroad, looking at the news & on here & Sm.
Is anyone enjoying the sun and heat?
I used to love when summer arrived and it was never long enough

Who is loving it and making the most of it and what are you doing? (Planning to return in the next two years, so curious to see how summer looks)

I can see some posters are posting from parts of the country that aren't hot

But I'm curious

Those of you, who are enjoying it, what kind of temps do you have? I'm about to try and sleep in 27°. And it's very humid as well. And that's with the portable AC running

I appreciate that some people are just fine with that but I think 27 at midnight is far too hot. It's about 32 outside I think.

I’m loving it! I’m not in work and the schools have been shut. My eldest played in and out of the garden with his friend all day. Then we went to the beach at around 5pm where it was still 31 degrees. We went in and out of the sea to cool off and then had a bbq. We stayed until the sun went down and it was lovely. Everyone seemed so relaxed and happy.

Oh, but the only thing I’m not enjoying is that my new build is 29 degrees downstairs and 32 degrees upstairs!! There isn’t any relief from the temperature other than having a cold shower/paddling pool/sea (or my favourites, standing in the freezer and going to stand around the local supermarket that has aircon). The fan is making absolutely no difference.

Just sad, guilty and angry that we have fucked this beautiful climate which we were so lucky to have. I don't know how to live without contributing to the problem. Utterly unadapted both for life on a damaged Earth and for living in a way which doesn't damage it. And US politicians want women to have more children?!

I bloody love it even though i'm spending full days grafting renovating my house.

I think it depends where you are in the country and the temp it’s got to. Lots of the posts here don’t sound from those with the extremely high red alert temps which are only covering parts of the country.

Sounds fairly pleasant up North and some coastal areas but a ‘feels like’ temp of 42 here is not the weather for ‘pottering around the garden’ and other such activities.

Edited

I hear you and sympathise - but also, get a better AC. My B&D is keeping my bedroom nice and cool. Only bearable part of house
